Wow. Shifting Gears. I really built that! I don’t think the kids who showed up this summer will ever understand what they gave me in return. I don’t think I’ll ever fully process that. What started as a little idea in my head turned into a summer full of memories, friendships, and kids asking when we were coming back. To some people that might not seem like much, but to me it means EVERYTHING. A lot of you have watched me grow up, and you know why this hits so close to home. I can’t go back and change the childhood I had, but at 18 years old I got to create something bigger than myself. Something that gives kids a place to belong, people who believe in them, and a better path than the one that led me to incarceration. I’m beyond blessed and thankful for everyone who helped make our first summer possible. I started Shifting Gears hoping to make a difference in these kids’ lives, never realizing just how much they’d make a difference in mine. 🧡

Power starts in the bend. 💥

On lateral bound sticks, teach athletes to sink deep into the knee, load the hips, explode UP & OUT, and stick the landing!

That deep bend helps build better force production, stability, and control when changing direction.
