Armistice Day. Twice in the last few years, the Tower of London has arranged some beautiful remembrance installations.

In 2014, to commemorate the start of WWI, 888,246 ceramic poppies were planned in the moat, one for every commonwealth soldier lost in the war.

In 2018, to commemorate the end of the war, candles were lit at dusk every day for 10 days.

I was lucky enough to take part in both installations - planting poppies and lighting the candles. Swipe 👉🏼 to see.

There aren’t many tourists in London at the moment.

I’m a Blue Badge tourist guide, so my colleagues and I are twiddling our thumbs.

Given that there are so many people working from home and self-isolating, there’s probably quite a lot of loneliness about.

So I started #globalteabreak.

At three o’clock every day, I’m posting a little video talking about bits of London history. It’s the sort of thing I might do with my guests if I were guiding.

It’s to create a kind of community online.

As Brits, we know that there’s nothing a good cup of tea cannot cure.
