Raíces stands with those who can TELL A STORY!

From the Borderland to the big screen, The 2026 El Paso Film Festival reminds us that film is more than entertainment. It’s a lens into who we are, what we experience, and the communities we call home. 🎥🫶🏾

For a city’s health system, storytelling matters, too. Film can open conversations about the issues affecting our communities, make complex experiences easier to understand, and remind us that behind every statistic is a person with a story worth hearing. 🎞️✨

🎬🎃 EL PASO Creatives MEETUP OCTOBER 23RD

This month we’re doing something a little different… we’re bringing FILMMAKERS + MUSICIANS + CREATIVES together in one space. 🤝🏽

📍 Apple Tree Creative Center
3945 Doniphan Park Cir, Ste C
El Paso, TX 79922
🗓️ October 23rd
⏰ 6PM–8PM
🎃 Halloween Theme

Apple Tree is a nonprofit organization doing incredible work for creatives in our community, including providing FREE music classes and creating opportunities for artists to learn, grow and connect.

That mission is exactly what I want to help build for our filmmaking community.

So why not bring both worlds together?

🎥 Filmmakers can connect with musicians.
🎵 Musicians can connect with filmmakers.
📸 Bring your cameras and start creating.
🎬 Shoot content, music videos, behind-the-scenes footage and whatever ideas come to mind.

The students from Apple Tree will also be providing LIVE MUSIC throughout the evening, so bring your camera and come ready to film!

Honestly, this is the type of opportunity I wish I had when I was starting out. One of the hardest things for me was finding artists who were willing to work with me and give me an opportunity to create.

Now I have the chance to help create those opportunities for the next generation of filmmakers and creatives.

And I’m not doing it alone. 🙏🏽

Huge thank you to the entire @apple.tree.ep staff for opening their doors and helping make this possible.
Come meet somebody. Build a team. Shoot something. Make something happen.

The screening of the film HIVE was inspiring. Huge thank you to director @felipe_vargasf for sharing his journey, insights, and knowledge during the Q&A.

One of the biggest takeaways was hearing how much the industry is changing and how many new opportunities are opening up for indie filmmakers and creators. There are more avenues than ever to tell stories, build community, and create without waiting for permission.

Events like these are important for El Paso’s growing film community. Grateful to see filmmakers, creatives, and storytellers coming together to learn, connect, and inspire each other. 2025 has been a wild ride. I lost a ferret, gained a (temporary) puppy, met my girlfriend, worked on a few sets, saw a good friend get married, went on a cruise, had a mediocre string of YouTube videos on a confused channel, and saw Coldplay in concert. Here’s to 2026. #cheers
