On this most somber of days (which also happens to be my birthday) I want to share optimism for our world. Optimism in people's generosity, kindness, openness and acceptance. These are values we should share with each other and our children. It fills my heart that these simple yet treasured sentiments were shared around the table just a few days ago at my #welcometotheroots lunch, with old and new friends. It was such a beautiful day which reminds us all of the power of food to bring people together.
