This Slam Poetry Piece was inspired by the #ShutDownUHS protest back in February of 2024 in honor of those who have died in UHS facilities & the impacted family members who are still fighting for Justice.

Thank you to all the activists who came out this weekend to protest the largest and profitable psychiatric chain in America- Universal Health Services . They have a deep history of medical malpractice, child sexual abuse, fraud, and death. We stood outside their headquarters and said #SHUTDOWNUHS. Security may have been upset, but we got cars to stop and people asking questions!

Gathering in person was healing on so many levels. Sharing ideas, stories, solutions--this will not be the last.

We Remember Monique Payne. We Remember Aaron Gower. We Remember Amber Mace.

There is no excuse for child abuse.

We Warned Them, in collaboration with @justiceforourangels20 & families who have lost their loved ones to neglect and abuse at UHS (Universal Health Services) facilities, are planning 2 protests in February on the death anniversaries of Aaron Gower (February 6th in Denton, TX) & Monique Payne (February 11th in King of Prussia, PA).

This year we are determined that UHS families will not protest alone. Money raised from bondfire (link in bio) will directly fund these families travel expenses.

As impacted family members, Theresa Payne & Sandra Gower want to educate communities everywhere about the abuse, neglect and exploitation that can happen to youth in institutional settings, unbeknownst to families looking for help.

We hope that you'll join us in showing the utmost support to these families by helping us honor the lives of Aaron & Monique. No one should have to bury their loved ones due to abuse & neglect.

Aaron Gower & Monique Payne should still be alive.
