Smashing Pumpkins brought their ‘Rats in a Cage’ tour to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, which meant another CleveRock roadtrip! The three original boys were joined by guitar goddess @kikiwongo and longtime bass player @jackbates_music. The first set was a selection from their 1995, ‘Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.”

Rob Zombie closed the night at Blossom with an energetic set and side show that wowed us all! Giant stage props, larger than literal life monsters crossing the stage and just visuals to aid in the best of nightmares. Such a great time!

Last week Lindsey Stirling brought her talents to Cuyahoga Falls! Part strings, part acrobatics, 100% impressive. She’s so deserving of all the respect and admiration she received as she put her heart into every moment of the show. For those who have never been, do yourself a favor and join her the next time she’s in town!

Foo Fighters returned to Cleveland, and for their first time at Huntington Bank Field. What started as a rainy day ended dry and our faces melted off! Why, well because the Foos kicked our butts for a literal 3 hours! Ending with Everlong and rooftop fireworks! Dave reminded us of his Ohio roots and how much he identifies with our Ohio work ethic and brought it into Foo Fighters!

An over due post from Patrick Fenner:
Two weeks ago Shape attended the 57th Central Great Lakes Emmys. We were nominated for a wonderful project we did for @landstudio, The Band. We did not win our category but that wasn’t the reward for myself (not that I wouldn’t have been excited.) Shape is almost 10 years old, and we’ve been working on so many wonderful and amazing stories in that time. At no point did I think we would be up nominated for an Emmy. Not because the work wasn’t good, I just wasn’t dreaming big enough. Shape is the product of so many, and it’s the team behind Shape that taught me to dream bigger. They continue to push me and show me what Shape can become, what it’s capable of. For that, I am so appreciative to all of them!

I am grateful for anyone who has ever been associated with Shape, but especially two pictured here. Alessandra and Maddie. Both were instrumental in this particular project and both have moved on from Shape to their next opportunities. Though we will make sure we have the occasional opportunity to still work together in the future. Amy is still part of our team, but is slowly transitioning to Liminal Space, more on that at a later time.

I would also like to thank my family, including my sister, Tara and father, Tim for being my guests for that evening. They have been there supporting me and Shape for over a decade. Special shout out to Benn from @tv20cleveland who have also included me in some Emmy nominated work.

Thank you all! More to come!!

- Pat

We’re nominated for an Emmy!! We are so honored that our piece “The Band” is nominated for a Emmy in the Central Great Lakes Chapter. Our team spent hours following around these fun robots and the masterminds behind them at @friendswithyou. We’re thankful to @landstudio and @clevelandpubliclibrary for their partnership on this and their role in bringing this story to life. Thank you to everyone who worked on this project!!
