I honestly don’t even know if I have the words for this one. 🥹

Yesterday we opened the doors to the new Jack’s Home + Hardware in Lucedale, and standing there with my family felt a little surreal.

This expansion wasn’t even on our radar in January. And somehow, here we are. We took a rundown, empty building and turned it into something we are incredibly proud of. To see customers walking through those doors yesterday and shopping in a place that existed only as an idea a few months ago was overwhelming in the very best way.

More than anything, I’m proud of Jeffry. I’ve watched him dream big, make a million decisions, solve problem after problem and work unbelievably long days to make this happen. He saw what this building could be long before the rest of us could. I’m so thankful for a husband who isn’t afraid to dream big and follow wherever the Lord is leading us.

And these kids. ❤️ Every one of them has been part of this. Brayden has been right in the middle of it working at Jack’s every day. Caleb came and helped set shelves and product. Virginia jumped in wherever we needed her. And Trace and Allie have lived through the craziness at home - late work nights and way too many dinners out. 😂 But they still jumped in to help too.

Both sets of our parents and our incredible employees across all of our businesses have stepped up in more ways than I could ever list. Some held down our other businesses while we were gone. Others came to Lucedale and worked tirelessly alongside us. And our Jack’s team has worked tirelessly to get this store ready to open. There is absolutely no way we could have done this without all of them.

Yesterday I mostly felt gratitude. For our family, our employees, this community and every person who helped us get here. Most of all, gratitude to the Lord for opening doors we weren’t even looking for and giving us the courage to walk through them.

What a reminder that sometimes God’s plans are so much bigger than our own.

So proud of you, Jeffry. And so thankful I get to do this life with you. ❤️
