Happy Long Time Actor.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

At Octobers class we focused on TV scripts.
What I’m very aware of is that during scripted sessions people often only get to work with one partner and that’s often not what happens as an actor.
We have to be able to react to other actors performances.
To listen, adjust and respond to whomever we’re acting opposite.
Working opposite a different actor will change your performance.
They will bring a different energy, perspective and delivery.
It’s important not to be too set in what you think the scene should look like.
So, during this class, everyone worked on their scene once and then changed partners.
It’s so important to remain open and adaptable as an actor.

The November class is now on sale.
14.11.26 2-5pm at The Crescent Theatre.
We’ll be focusing on building characters from scratch and from short pieces of script.
These scenes will be filmed and sent to you to help your growth and development.
The class is £38.00
Please DM or email estherstanford@icloud.com to book on.

The October class.
TV Scriptwork.
The group were assigned one of 2 scripts beforehand to learn.
They then worked with a partner on their scene.
Their scenes were filmed and directed.
They then swapped partners and worked with someone new.
These scenes were the filmed so the group can look back at what they did.
See what works and what doesn’t.

As an actor, we have to have the adaptability to be able to do that.
Not to be completely rigid in our performances.
To listen and respond.

The November class will go on sale this evening.
It will be posted on here.

Networking at REVEEU

That is how a film community grows. It starts with people in the same room who care about the same thing, and it keeps growing every time someone introduces themselves.

If you were there, stay in touch with the people you met. If you weren’t, come to the next one and meet us.

Thank you for supporting VEEU and independent film.

As an actor you want to keep exercising that muscle. To play, to learn, to grow, to try, to experiment, to be around other actors.
That’s why I set up the monthly classes.
Each month we focus on a different area/aspect of acting and dedicate the session to that.
You can come to every class or come to one, whatever suits you. There is no commitment.
It’s an opportunity to work on your craft and feel part of a community.
If you’d like to join the mailing list to know about future classes then either go through the link in the bio, send a DM or message estherstanford@icloud.com

What I said in the photo.
It’s a total joy to work with actors, exploring, delving, growing and supporting each other.
To see people change as performers.
And, as one of the group said to me at the end, to feel part of a community.

The September class goes on sale today (17th August) and is based on Comedy Improvisation.
Post to follow.

What a fabulous July class!
Thank you so much to Associate West End Director @dewiberyl for leading such a fantastic class on Restoration Comedy.
Over the session we studied 2 scripts and got the pieces up and running, breaking down and understanding the language and the comedy.
We ended with a Q & A.
If you’re not sure what Restoration Comedy the closest modern comparison would be Blackadder.

The next class is Saturday 15th August 2-5pm and will go on sale on Monday.

Lovely session with this lot today for the June monthly class.
Today’s session was scriptwork.
I absolutely love that if you give 2 people the same script they will come at it with totally different interpretations.
Some stunning work from the group.

The next class is on Saturday July 18th 2-5pm at @crescenttheatre and spaces for that class go on sale on Monday.
