These last few days in Vegas have been quite overwhelming. To be inducted as an honorary member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, incorporated was never something that I saw in my future. Celebrating my beautiful, brilliant, and super sweet niece, Dr. Tiara Lacey, on her graduation from Harvard Medical School with her PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences yesterday.

From high school, she was focused. She had a vision, and she stayed faithful to it. Long days, late nights, sacrifices, and unwavering determination brought her to this moment. Watching her journey has been nothing short of inspiring.

Write the vision, and make it plain… Habakkuk 2:2. She wrote it, she believed it, and she walked it out with grace and strength.

Dr. Tiara, you are proof that faith, focus, and perseverance can move mountains. The world is better because of your brilliance and your heart. I am beyond proud of you and excited to see how God continues to use you.

Happy Birthday to my beautiful niece, Tyler! Before I had my own kids, I'm so grateful Trina and Tony shared you with me. You were my first baby girl and the one that told me as a little girl, "Kimmie, I'm going to Spelman just like you". I am proud to call you my Spelman sister and Soror.
