Gas engineers moving into air con… good for the industry or stepping on another trade’s toes? 👀

Season 12 kicks off with a debate between heating engineer @cruickshank_heating_cooling and air conditioning engineer @tcmairconditioningservices

With more gas and heating engineers looking at air con as another opportunity, Pete and Keiran get both sides around the table.

Can you really do a five-day course and call yourself an air con engineer? Are the skills transferable? And are experienced AC engineers right to be protective of their trade?

Season 12, Episode 1 out tomorrow.

This started as a joke… and somehow ended with Robbie getting a skullet. 😂

You lot chose the haircut. Pete and Keiran chose a side each.

Pete actually did alright. Keiran… absolutely butchered his side. 😭

The long-awaited Robbie haircut is finally here.

What are you guys thinking? Should Robbie keep the skullet?

Mate’s rates, protecting your body on the tools, growing a trade business, and would you ever trust someone else’s isolation?

Tomorrow on Overtime, Pete and Keiran get into some proper trade debates.

They’re reacting to your comments on pricing and £80-a-day mate’s rates, asking whether staying a one-man band is underrated, debating where a plumber’s job ends and a decorator’s begins, and getting into why Pete will always test an isolation himself.

Plus, some advice younger tradespeople might want to hear before years on the tools catch up with them. 👀

Out tomorrow.

Gas engineers, the winter rush has its warning signs… 🥶 The diary fills up. Customers remember the boiler service they meant to book months ago. Then a straightforward visit turns into fault-finding while the next customer is waiting.

Which one’s already happening on your jobs?

Being on the tools gave Keiran first-hand experience of what gas engineers actually need day to day.

From boiler breakdowns and plumbing to completing certificates, that experience helped shape one of the main ideas behind Gas Certificate App: keep it gas-focused, straightforward and useful on the job.

That means being able to do more than just certificates, from creating quotes and invoices to accessing boiler manuals and using the gas rate calculator while you’re already working through a job.

Is there really a skills shortage… or is there just less work around?

Tomorrow on Overtime, Pete and Keiran get into whether work is actually slowing down, Making Tax Digital, the physical toll years on the tools can take on your body and some of the standout guests from this season.

Plus, Pete’s back is in bits and the usual Overtime chaos continues.

What are you seeing at the moment, plenty of work, or has it slowed down?

Out tomorrow.
