Venue Review #1 – Training With Maits ♿️

This is what accessibility should feel like.

From the moment you roll in, the energy is welcoming, supportive, and built around people. There’s a genuine sense of community here — and you feel it straight away.

A huge shoutout to the entire Training With Maits team — Dan, Liam, and all the staff — for creating a space where all abilities are not only included, but genuinely supported and encouraged to thrive.

It’s not just about training here — it’s about confidence, connection, and being part of something bigger.

Spaces like this don’t just build strength — they build people.

The only area holding this back from a full score is the amenities.

An accessible toilet is in place, which is a great foundation — but it may not fully support independent use for all individuals. With a few improvements, this space could move from great to exceptional.

This is what progress looks like — and it’s exciting to see.

To other venues — this is the standard.
If you’re serious about accessibility, let’s start the conversation.

Training with MAITS 💪♿

I train here weekly for my wheelchair AFL prep…
and there’s a lot to like.

But accessibility isn’t just about how it looks —
it’s about how it actually works.

👀 Full review + accessibility scorecard coming next

This one’s worth breaking down properly.

FLOW vs BURN.

This lateral lunge exercise from this week's class is a great example of how exercises can be modified to suit each of our class styles!

In our FLOW lateral lunge:
⭐️ we've got one foot to carriage and the other on the ground = stability
⭐️ our springs are more supportive
⭐️ light weights were optional!

In our BURN lateral lunge:
⭐️ we're up on the carriage and platform
⭐️ the option to step to the box = more challenge for that inner thigh and mobility of the hip
⭐️ weights were a 2 or 3kg option

Same movements just with different levels of challenge!

See you next week 🫶🏻

A WEEK IN CLASSES.

This week's class was not very chill whatsoever - full body focused with looooots of layers to spice it up 🌶️

It's so fun getting to watch all my clients take on all these moves and see them absolutely kill it (despite the shakes and wobbles)

Pilates bingo is now on in the studio, make sure you're signed up and filling in your card!

See you next week 🫶🏻
