Flat feet + jumper’s knee doesn’t necessarily mean you need to stop boxing.

🥊 With the right coach, boxing can become part of the solution.

🦶 Your foot is designed to do two seemingly opposite things:

1) pronate and flatten to absorb force, then 2) become rigid to push force back into the ground.

💨 The Windlass mechanism makes this happen.

As the big toe extends,

tension through the plantar fascia helps raise and stiffen the arch (it will feel like a twist and a stretch), creating a stronger lever for propulsion.

🥊 If you have flat feet, you will not be able turn your plantar fascia into a lever for force generation …

Then, rest of the lower limb then has to adapt—the knee usually ends up taking more force than it was designed to.

That can become jumper’s knee (patellar tendinopathy).

Interesting, proper boxing footwork technique can assist in improving flat feet:

1) Boxing requires repeated foot drive, weight transfer, pivots, bouncing, acceleration and deceleration … in other words, motor skills which are trainable and transferable to other areas of life and other sports.

2) So rather than simply avoiding explosive movement, we can progressively teach the foot, knee and hip to organize and manage force better, then integrate that control back into boxing.

This is the fundamental idea behind The Strike Method: use striking to build better movement, rather than allowing striking to reinforce existing problems.

✅ Cable Rotations for Lumbo-Pelvic Triangle (LPT) Control 🔺

Striking requires more than producing force through the legs.

You also need to transfer that force through the pelvis and trunk into the upper body,

while maintaining control of your position.

🔺 The Lumbo-Pelvic Triangle (LPT) is a coaching and motor-control concept I developed within The Strike Method.

Note: It is NOT an anatomical structure or fascial “sling.”

I use the LPT as a SPATIAL framework for teaching athletes to actively coordinate the musculature surrounding the pelvis, hips, and trunk,

and move the hip flexors and deep core muscles synergistically.

🦵 In this drill, an adductor squeeze + hip hinge gives Kenzie

sensory information about her pelvic position

while she performs a seated cable rotation.

The goal isn’t simply to strengthen her rotation, but build motor control over the LPT for improved striking.

Kenzie is a beginner Muay Thai student learning these mechanics from the ground up.
