A little late, but for good reason! My holiday season was full of family, friends, and lots and lots of 🚂 time. Here’s to the year ahead! ✨

🚂✨ A little steam-powered time travel…

Here’s Bill’s wife, Fiona, age 7, in front of Engine No. 40 “Green River” at Knott’s Berry Farm back in June 1968. Built in 1881 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Denver & Rio Grande Western, this narrow-gauge 2-8-0 found a new home at the Ghost Town & Calico Railroad, where it still thrills guests today — now known as Engine No. 340.

💡 Fun fact: Fifty years later, in 2018, their son Bret Iwan (the voice of Mickey Mouse 🐭) became a certified engineer on this very same locomotive. Talk about steam history coming full circle! ❤️🔥

It’s no secret I love trains so COOKING on one is just the best. And, yes, I get a chance to do it once in a while.
