It was an evening of community and purpose at George Brown Polytechnic’s Waterfront Campus for Food Court Social, an annual fundraising event bringing together talented chefs and community partners in support of the Augmented Education Program.

The program provides tuition-free, employment-focused education for individuals who have experienced barriers related to mental health and addiction, helping create pathways to education, skills development and employment.

For the past three years, I’ve had the pleasure of being part of @transcendbyjex Chef Jex Paisley’s team , and it is always a joy to support him at his many catering engagements, private events and culinary experiences.

At Food Court Social, Jex served up his Jerk Chicken Pierogi and Ackee & Saltfish Pierogi, and they went like wildfire! 🔥

Transcend by Jex also offers chef-crafted, ready-to-eat meals delivered right to your door, along with catering and private dining experiences.

Proud to see one of Dufferin County’s finest chefs represented at an event with such an important purpose.

Celebrating another incredibly fun evening at @george brown college annual Food Court Social event - #FCS2026. Once again the culinary talent who are primarily alumni were in action with another beautifully curated culinary evening , entertainment, silent auctions and the talented @missjullyblack throwing down some powerful vocals and vibes.
The evening is focused on raising funds for our Augmented Education programme (#AugEd) where we provide tuition free job focused training in culinary and construction to individuals overcoming mental health and addiction issues.
It's always my favourite night of the year and with good reason where we end up having fun while serving purpose. A massive thank you to all our Sponsors, the Chefs who participated, our Faculty, our supportive Foundation Board and incredible staff and an especially big shout out to the folks @powerplaypg who make the evening special with their faultless execution.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of returning to George Brown Polytechnic for a special fireside chat with Dr. Ana-Rita Morais, Dean at George Brown and the writer of my book’s foreword. Together, we celebrated Designing in the Dark and explored the journey, experiences and stories behind it all.

A heartfelt thank you to the faculty, staff, @gbpolytechalumni, @sagbc, the GBP Foundation and everyone involved in bringing this special event to life.

@marci.ien thank you for the beautiful introduction, and of course, a very special thank you to @Rosa for truly making it all happen.

Thank you as well to the @fashionexchange family for the beautiful handcrafted gifts, and to chef @transcendbyjex for the incredible food!

Lastly, thank you to everyone who joined us and brought such wonderful energy to the room. I’m so grateful you were part of this special moment.
