✨ The T-Huis is a safe space for the trans community — but especially for those among us navigating homelessness, addiction, and those with a migrant, refugee or sex work background. ✨ Most of the time, our resources can barely stretch to cover social work, transportation for those in need, and food on our table. We know food isn’t just a necessity for many — it’s what brings us together. That’s why support from our allies isn’t just needed… it’s celebrated. 💖 A huge thank you to Marisol Castañon Lara and Federica de Leo, who weeks ago made a donation to our Clothing Bank — and threw in makeup and beauty products too! 💄 Thanks to their generosity, our amazing volunteers Trixy and Barbara organized a spa day for those in our community who just wanted to be pampered for a day. 🧖‍♀️💅 When we say Protect the Dolls, it also means helping us experience the things that for many are normal — but for us? 💜💜 Happy Purple Friday, Netherlands! 💜💜 Today, we’re throwing it back to our unforgettable World Pride event at Theater de Richel back in August — and our hearts are still so full! It was a day brimming with joy, laughter, teamwork, and love. The Hands That Heal Dialoogbijeenkomst bij QueerHub Wat hebben we met elkaar gemeen en hoe kunnen we elkaar beter begrijpen? Dinsdag 6 oktober gaan we in gesprek over uitsluiting, discriminatie, zorg en veiligheid. De foto-expositie The Hands That Heal, over trans personen die zelf zorgklinieken oprichten, vormt het vertrekpunt. Er is ruimte om ervaringen te delen, te luisteren en vragen te stellen. Het is zover! Zaterdag 31 oktober organiseert Principle 17 in het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam een symposium over de toekomst van transgenderzorg in Nederland. Tijdens deze dag staan de huidige stand van zaken en grote knelpunten centraal, en hoe moet het eigenlijk in de toekomst? Met diverse sprekers en workshops verkennen we waar de transgenderzorg nu staat, waar deze naartoe moet en hoe we daar terecht kunnen komen. De zorg voor transgenders in Nederland staat onder grote druk. Wachtlijsten lopen op tot jaren, zorgverleners hebben vaak geen zicht op de laatste ontwikkelingen en veel trans personen lopen vast in het zorgaanbod en hun rechten. Het symposium wil daar verandering in brengen. Sprekers gaan in op thema’s als acceptatie en rechten van transgenders in Nederland, transzorg in Europees perspectief, de nieuwe zorgstandaarden en hoe je transzorg in eigen hand neemt. In de middag zijn er verdiepende workshops over overleven of omzeilen van de wachtlijsten, trans body hacking, hoe je klachten over de zorg indient en transzorg van de toekomst. Het symposium is bedoeld voor zorgverleners, trans personen of wie gewoon geïnteresseerd is in transgenderzorg. Voertaal is Nederlands. 🎬 FILM SCREENING + Q&A 🇳🇱 Nederlands hieronder On Wednesday, September 23rd, we’re hosting a special screening of Lize Korpershoek’s documentary Tammie Zoekt een Vriendje (Tammie Is Looking for a Boyfriend). 🍿🤗 Tammie, a young trans woman, longs for love and a ‘normal’ life. But in a world full of prejudice, that feels anything but certain. As she searches for a boyfriend, she talks with others about dating, relationships and her future. Their stories hold up a mirror to her and offer new perspectives on love. Some ideas start with a friendship. The Queer Parenthood program grew from that space, from conversations, shared experiences, questions and the feeling that there were stories around queer parenthood that we wanted to make room for. Somewhere along the way, friendship became collaboration. Conversations became a concept. And that concept became a podcast. Behind the scenes, we’ve been creating, questioning, laughing, learning and building together. Three days. One global bi+ community. So many stories, ideas, connections, and moments to carry forward. 💜💙💖 From powerful conversations and bold ideas to laughter, connection, and moments we’ll carry with us - the Bi+ World Conference, held on 28, 29 and 30 July 2026, was a celebration of bi+ lives, voices, and community. It brought bi+ people from across the globe together in Amsterdam - creating a space to share knowledge and lived experiences, learn from one another, strengthen our communities, and celebrate the diversity and strength of bi+ lives. From conversations about resilience and bi+ activism to intergenerational experiences, research, intersectionality, community organising and simply finding your people - the conference showed just how powerful it is when we come together. Thank you to everyone who showed up, shared, listened, danced, challenged, connected and helped make this gathering what it was. This is more than an after movie. It’s a glimpse of what happens when bi+ people come together, take up space, and imagine a more bi+ inclusive world. Let’s drift together. 🌊 Let’s keep building. These last days at the @internationalarconference were such a boost of energy, passion and movement building. Spending time with so many activists, thinkers, campaigners, scholars, animal carers, artists or educators who put all their wisdom, their knowledge and their heart into building a world without animal exploitation… it gives me hope and determination. 🌶️🔥 I can only say thank you for the encounters, discussions, brilliant presentations and workshops, delicious meals, new connections and friendships. I’m proud of being surrounded by so many human animals who show that a loving, caring world is possible and imaginable. It has been an honour to sing for you all and to present my two films ‘Piet & Soya’ and ‘Dedomestication’. You have treated me with so much kindness, i wish every cow on this planet could experience that 🐄💓 Being vegan is our ethical stance, it’s our community and our movement, and we will continue to become stronger until we become truly irresistable💫
