Ikigai House. The interiors.

In December 2021 we found this little slice of paradise in the Noosa Hinterland, and fell in love the moment we drove down the driveway.

Wherever we could, we made thoughtful and considered choices: limewash paint, a higher energy rating, accessible design, and a home that runs 100% electric with solar, battery and EV charging. We worked with local suppliers and businesses as much as possible, and where we couldn’t, we chose ethical, responsible ones.

Through all of it, I wanted Ikigai to feel like home. Somewhere cosy, that can grow with you and be flexible through every stage of life.

It takes a team to build something like this, and we had the best one. To every trade, designer, supplier and friend who brought this to life, thank you. We couldn’t feel luckier. 🥰

The 004 explores contrast through structure and softness. A tailored metal framework supports a voluminous silk shade, introducing gentle movement and texture while casting an intimate, atmospheric glow. Both expressive and composed, it brings warmth and presence to the space through material interplay and careful proportion.

Customisation options are available, allowing for dimensions, finishes, and detailing to suit the unique requirements of each project.#lighting #lightingdesign #design #stateoflight #madeinaustralia

PRACTICE NOTES | Stone Manor House | Principal Jeremy Bull writes, "Stone Manor was once a hospital and had large bedrooms connected to a single large internal hall. It meant that each room could acoustically connect to each other room, if you chose to shout. A novel and joyous way of communicating in a large family.

The previous upper floor planning located the master suite to the street side of the house. Whilst maintaining the large hall, we related the master suite to the garden side of the house, adding an illuminated airlock for additional privacy. Light now floods into this central circulation and the master bedroom also enjoys an external private bath."

PRACTICE NOTES | Stone Manor House | Formal dining rooms in Victorian houses can often be dark, enclosed spaces, their original intent misaligned with the rhythm of modern family life.

In the case of Stone Manor House, the dining room celebrates both scale and light. Tall sash windows allow natural light to soak the room, while its generous proportions enable it to serve multiple purposes: a space for formal dinner hosting, but primarily our client’s office, comfortably accommodating board meetings around the dining table.

A richer, more mature palette distinguishes the room from the rest of the home, expressed through walnut-toned joinery, smoky antiqued mirrors and the generous Holo @fanulifurniture dining table.

IN FOCUS | Stone Manor House | As with other bathrooms in Stone Manor House the master ensuite has its own unique stone-led identity, featuring a @worldstone_australia Merlin Quartzite bench top and shower portals.

The ensuite is positioned at the home's rear and includes direct access to the parent's private terrace with treetop views, and outdoor bathtub, framed here by the double vanity's twin floating mirrors.
