POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In this clip from Speak, Unspoken Episode 03, Tanya reflects on what it means to show up for younger Black generations with care, encouragement, and community.

For many racialized young people, mental health is shaped by more than what they are feeling internally. It is also shaped by what they are carrying every day: racism, anti-Black racism, stigma, family and community pressures, limited access to culturally responsive care, and the exhaustion of moving through spaces where they may not always feel fully seen.

This is why care has to go beyond telling young people to “stay strong.”

It means creating spaces where they can feel safe, heard, supported, and understood. It means recognizing how identity, belonging, culture, and lived experience all shape mental health and wellbeing.

Sometimes a simple reminder can stay with someone longer than we realize.

You are seen.
You are needed.
You are not alone.

In this conversation, Tanya Turton and Linzey Corridon explore how queer writers from the Caribbean and diaspora use story to express love, identity, and freedom. Through their work, they challenge convention, affirm authenticity, and celebrate the multiplicity of queer experience across cultures and generations. Moderated by Matthew Dawkins.

Join us in a conversation about Moving our Stories and our journey of creating a loving space for Black wellbeing. Tune into to learn more about what makes this space possible.

In this conversation our founder @trapmystic and operations manager @wataandsource affirm Black queer and trans people need each. We must reflect and affirm our humanity back to each other. In these times, it’s more important than ever to connect with our bodies through movement.

Moving Our Stories pulls from our current model of using the historical connection Black communities have to storytelling to explore mental health.

Moving Our Stories merges movement modalities with Black mental health. Historically and currently Black communities have used movement as a tool to tell stories, connect with the community as we decrease isolation and increase our wellness. Movement is a tool and methodology with deep ancestral roots and the ability to connect and bridge accessibility gaps to both physical and mental wellness.

Join our community! Registration is still open!!

We’re thrilled to share something new: our very first podcast.

Mental health in Black communities is too often met with silence and stigma, even when open conversations are most needed. Speak, Unspoken—created in partnership with Living Practices Consulting, led by Pascale Diverlus is a five-part podcast series that breaks that silence.

Real stories, cultural insights, and lived experiences are being shared by those who have walked through mental health challenges. It’s about struggles, yes, but also resilience, healing, and the many ways Black communities find strength.

This series is not only for those seeking connection, but also for practitioners and service providers who want to better understand and support the people they serve.

Celebrate with us and listen to all five episodes now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and SoundCloud. (link in bio) Speak, Unspoken: A Limited series Podcast

🚨EPISODE 3 DROPPING ON YA HEADTOP🚨

“Do you remember bashment parties?” This episode begs to answer many questions including how do we find community in these end of times? Featuring two of today’s most impactful advocates and community builders @trapmystic & @cupcakesmmm

How can we take direction from the youth leading movements? How do we impart our lessons? Further, how do we build bridges to the generations that precede us? In the age of conservatism, this conversation serves as a reminder there is more at stake than ever before. This episode is full of nostalgic memories coupled with tangible tools to resist against fascism. In between the kikis and laughs, we strategize on how we continue to see each other through a time of so much uncertainty.
