I am so proud to push this sonic collage out of the nest and into the world…and the FIRST OFFICIAL release through @trash_magic_presents

@tokaprod would send me phone memos of his prose and stream of consciousness musings. I would then resample, reamp and decontextualize them while building song/soundscape around them.

What results is a transcendental internal dialogue that ebbs and flows like a familiar dream set to drum machine cacophony. Lots of moving parts, moments of sparse timestretched texture and peppered grooves.

Artwork by the incomparable @jeffwillswest whose vision elevates this collage to another astral plane entirely

Available exclusively on @bandcamp with physical and multimedia counterparts on the near horizon

This album has been on repeat in my ears for the last six weeks! Alex McMahon is Albuquerque's secret weapon of love, from studio session wizardry, touring with @thehandsomefamily, and his own duo @gralbrothersmusic - and he's made an incredible thing with his first solo record WCW. Part Calexico, part Richard Buckner, part Flaming Lips, part Godspeed You! Black Emperor - seriously. Beautiful. You can listen to it (or buy it) on Bandcamp - link in bio.

Happy Birthday to this legend! Born on Valentine's Day AND shares a birthday with @thewarrenellis - coincidence? We think not. Wish @middle_ro0m_presents (aka @alex_mcmahon_exists) a happy birthday and go pre-order his upcoming album WCW from casitarecords.com (link in bio). And many happy returns to Mister Ellis as well!

Today @middle_ro0m_presents has released a beautiful cover of my songs Chores and Lawrence & MacArthur. [link in my bio]
.
The Middle Room Presents is the solo project of @alex_mcmahon_exists You can read his words about this release by swiping left in this post. These songs pair together so well and these recordings sound like Alex has packed them into a suitcase and taken them somewhere mysterious and far from home. Please visit the link in my bio and give them a listen.
