WTF AI : AI Nerd QAnon

TLDR; This AI doom religion is a delusion and a distraction

The media machine is now fully engaged to push AI agendas, “Flooding the zone”, it’s impossible to keep up with the constant information. I’ll continue to poke at the foundation layer of this house of cards.

I’m old enough to remember this same debate for the Internet. The people who wanted a gated Internet had reasons and most of them were sincere. They were also wrong.

Access won, and everyone reading this is better off for it. Freedom of information is fundamental and worth fighting for. I see us right now unknowingly following some fanatics and being convinced to hand over our freedoms because “only they can protect us“. This is why I’m compelled to speak out.

What if they can’t protect us? What if there’s nothing to protect us from? What if their bogeyman is just part of a delusion? … and what if we gave up our freedoms for nothing at all.

Anyways. Appreciate everyone’s feedback 🙏🏼

Have a great weekend ☀️

[EN] Digital power today operates across multiple layers: from the algorithms that shape what we see, to the infrastructures that sustain communication, public services, and everyday life. Questions of speech, access, and autonomy increasingly depend on systems that operate out of sight — yet have profound consequences.

In a recent article for The Guardian, Paolo Gerbaudo (@paologerbo) examines how control in the digital sphere increasingly works through visibility, reach, dependency, and technological concentration. These questions were also discussed on Trashfuture (@trashfuturepod), La Base (@labase_tv) on Canal Red (@canalred_tv), and DW News (@DWNews), in conversations on the TikTok USDS takeover and its political implications.

These issues are further explored in ‘Why Digital Sovereignty Matters’, written by Paolo Gerbaudo with Cecília Rikap and originally published in Tribune (@tribuneuk) as part of Alameda’s After Order project, focusing on the concentration of critical digital infrastructure and its political consequences.
