* Release Year: 2006

Tracklist

A1 – The Leopard
B1 – Seconds

About the Release

Released in 2006 on Traum Schallplatten, The Leopard EP is one of the defining early releases by the Swedish duo Minilogue, consisting of Marcus Henriksson and Sebastian Mullaert. Following their transition from psychedelic trance into minimal techno, the duo quickly established a unique sound that combined hypnotic grooves, intricate sound design and an unmistakable sense of musical depth. The Leopard EP became one of the records that firmly established their reputation within the international underground scene.

The title track, “The Leopard,” is built around a deep, rolling groove, warm analogue synth textures and subtle melodic progression. Rather than relying on dramatic drops or obvious hooks, the composition evolves patiently through microscopic rhythmic variations and beautifully layered atmospheres. The result is a hypnotic journey that perfectly captures Minilogue’s ability to merge minimal techno with emotional, almost cinematic soundscapes.

On the B-side, “Seconds” explores a slightly darker and more stripped-back direction. Crisp percussion, elastic basslines and evolving textures create a driving yet spacious atmosphere, making the track equally effective on the dancefloor and for immersive listening. The contrast between the two productions highlights the duo’s exceptional studio craftsmanship and their talent for balancing precision with warmth. In early 2007, both tracks also received remix treatments by Extrawelt and Roel H, further extending the release’s influence.

Today, The Leopard EP is regarded as a landmark release in Minilogue’s discography and one of the standout records in the Traum Schallplatten catalogue. Its timeless production, organic flow and meticulous attention to detail have ensured its lasting appeal among DJs and collectors, while “The Leopard” remains one of the duo’s most celebrated productions from the golden era

Daylen Fox is the solo project of Daniel Fuchs. In the late 2000s and early 2010s, he was part of the projects Doppelschicht and Tremsch & Metzler, contributing to a number of productions and remixes released on labels including Trapez Ltd and My Best Friend (MBF), both are sublabels of @traumschallplatten.

His passion for electronic music has remained constant ever since and continues to shape his work today. With a strong focus on groove, atmosphere and refined sound design, Daylen Fox explores the space between minimal-leaning Tech House and contemporary club music. Clean arrangements, warm textures and organic grooves form the foundation of his productions.

Rather than following short-lived trends, Daylen Fox focuses on creating timeless club music with character. Music that leaves room to breathe, puts groove at its core, and balances dancefloor functionality with a distinct sonic identity.
