Today I graduate from Southern University and A&M College 🐆
Choosing to become a Child Life Specialist was never just about a career for me it was about my heart. Ever since I was young, I’ve always loved working with children and being someone they could smile, laugh, and feel safe around. I truly believe children are our future, and I want to spend my life helping them through some of the hardest moments with love, comfort, and care.
To my advisors, Ms. Keisha and Ms. Alexis, thank you for being so much more than advisors to me. Thank you for the late night phone calls, the encouragement, the hugs when I cried, and for constantly reminding me not to give up. Y’all carried me through moments when I didn’t think I was strong enough to keep going, and I will forever be grateful for you both.
To my parents, thank you for loving me through every high and low. Thank you for flying to me when I was in the hospital, praying for me, supporting me, and never leaving my side. There were so many moments where things felt impossible, but your love kept me going. This degree is just as much yours as it is mine. ❤️
After every setback, surgery, tear, and challenge… God still allowed me to make it to this moment.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.” Romans 8:28 ✨

Came to Southern University and A&M College miles away from everything I knew… my family, my comfort, my home. Never thought the people I met here would become family too. Through every late night, every setback, every win, they pushed me, prayed for me, and reminded me why I started. This moment isn’t just mine it belongs to the family I found away from home… guess you can say i win again 😘

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.”Isaiah 40:31 ✝️

Southern University and A&M college gave me more than a degree… it gave me a testimony. There were moments when I didn’t know how I was going to make it through. I got sick, went through surgeries, faced pain, exhaustion, and setbacks, but God never let me give up. Through every hospital visit, every tear, and every hard semester, I kept pushing.
And now, in just 3 days, I will officially receive my degree. What once felt impossible is finally becoming reality. No matter what tried to stop me, God carried me through it all. This journey taught me that strength doesn’t come from never struggling it comes from trusting God while you struggle.

My time under the oaks has officially come to an end, and I am in awe of what GOD has done in my life. Dillard pushed me, grew me, and blessed me with a foundation of Black excellence that I will carry forever. To my family and everyone who prayed me through to this finish line—thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m leaving Gentilly knowing that GOD’s plan for my future is even bigger than this beautiful moment. Out of the Bleu and into the bag. Ex Fide Fortis! 💙🖤🤍

All good things must come to an end 🎓

This one means everything to me. I did this while fighting battles most people couldn’t see showing up sick, exhausted, and discouraged more days than I can count. There were moments I wanted to quit… not just school, but everything.

But “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13 God carried me with His grace, love, and forgiveness, and gave me the strength to stand tall and keep going every single day.

To my support system… my MOTHER, my God mom, my grandmother and aunts, my girls, and everyone who held me up when I was at my weakest… even down to helping me through my injections. THANK YOU! I could not have done this without you.

From Xavier University (B.A. Biology, double minor in Chemistry & Sociology) to graduating my BSN at Loyola in just 17 months this Saturday! I made it. And I’ll never take that for granted.

It was never easy, but it was always worth it. 💫

This journey is one I wouldn’t trade in the world. Through the ups and downs, these past four years have allowed me to grow personally and professionally. It has shaped me into the resilient, confident, and driven young woman I am today. Within these four years, I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of many organizations and earning many academic achievements that have pushed me to grow, step out my comfort zone, shape me in ways I never expected, while also giving me lifelong connections and experiences I will cherish. To the university- the place that shaped me, and gave me a space to succeed. To the friendships I’ve gained, thank you for the support and the bond that we’ve created and shared. To my family, thank you for believing in me and my dreams, for being the shoulder I needed, for the encouraging words, and for your unwavering support. This milestone is one for the books. This degree holds meaning far beyond academics; it’s the start of my purpose🎓

“Designed my future, now I’m exporting the next chapter 🎓✨”

May 13th, 2026… the start of only the beginning. ✨

Coming to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College was never part of my original plan in fact, community college was my last choice. At first, I saw it as a setback, but little did I know it would become one of the greatest blessings and most important chapters of my journey. Here, I’ve learned valuable lessons, built lifelong friendships, and discovered a strength I didn’t know I had. The late nights, the sacrifices, and the growth have all shaped me into the person I am today.

This journey hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge taught me resilience, every obstacle strengthened my faith, and every setback became a setup for something greater. Through it all, I kept pushing, kept praying, and kept believing.

Now, I’m proud to say I will be continuing my education at The University of Mississippi , majoring in Computer Science. This is proof that sometimes the path you never intended to take can lead you exactly where God intended you to be. I’ve learned that your starting point doesn’t define your destination your effort, faith, and perseverance do.

All praise to God, because without Him none of this would be possible. He carried me when I felt weak, guided me when I felt lost, and blessed me beyond measure.

This is not the end, this is only the beginning. 🎓💙

Thank You Gulf Coast !
