The camera never lies... Oh yes it bloody well does!!😂

Through the 2003 looking glass... For today's dip into the more unseen/released shots from the archives...
Going back exactly thirteen years ago, tonight, I was somewhere just outside of Porthmadog, in the foothills of Snowdonia, attending a 'Night Glo' photography event organised by the @ffestiniogwelshhighland railway as part of the 150th birthday celebrations.

After having spent a couple of hours at this event, in the magnificently restored engine sheds, I have to say that it was NOT this bright!!😂
The camera lies!! Trust me!!

That said... It was a fantastic evening, and I'd gladly do it all over again tomorrow. 😊

In this particular photo, double Fairlie - Merddin Emrys, and Prince bask in the warm glow of the lighting provided.

Through the 1980s looking glass...

A quick throwback back to last Saturday... (A final gasp/glimpse of summer2026?)

I was at the @severnvalleyrailwayofficial for their autumn diesel gala.😊

Needless to say, it was another superb day. 😊

Anywhooo... I've just had some more photos back from the lab, and whilst I go through them all to catalog and archive them... This one I felt was more than worth of a quick showing on here. 😊

Despite the weather, I was up and about early again this morning, to catch the early morning squirty train.
(3S71 for the technically minded)

What better way to start the day on a wet and soggy Wednesday morning than with the daily Coleham LMD to Coleham LMD morning squirty train! 💦💦💦🍁💦🍂🍃💦💦💦😅👍🏻

Yes folks… Yet another reel!! I’m getting good at this! Lol 🤪

A last gasp for summer 2026?

So on Saturday just gone, I was at the @severnvalleyrailwayofficial for their autumn diesel gala… It was one of those pleasantly warm autumn days, with a hint of summer, but without the horrendous humidity. 😅👍🏻

But with the sun setting early, it produced some magical golden light at around 18:00. ☀️😁

So basking in the late evening sunshine at Kidderminster station, D1015 Western Champion (left) sits at the head of its train, which I would take to Bridgnorth, and to the right D8568 the sole surviving Class 17, the Clayton sits, awaiting a path to the depot.

More photos from this gala will be posted up once I get the film developed. 🎞️🧪🧫

So yesterday I decided to take myself to the @severnvalleyrailwayofficial for their autumn diesel gala… And what a fantastic day it was in the autumn sunshine. 🍃🍂🍁☀️🍁🍂🍃😊

I’ve still got lots of photos to go through and edit, plus film to get developed. 📷🎞️

But here’s a little reel of 46045 looking and sounding stunning, as she leaves Highley for Kidderminster.

The sound of evening thunder… English Electric thunder! 😁👌🏻

So after Saturday’s outing, I decided to head off out again this evening to the monthly Network Rail Measurement Train outing along the Wrexham to Bidston line. 😁

37419 and 37422 make their way through Buckley Station with 1Q41.

After a damp start to yesterday… The sun came out, to give us some wonderful hazy autumn sunshine. ☀️ 😊

I’m still going though yesterday’s photos… (Plus I’ve got a roll of Kodak Ultramax to get developed)… But here’s a digital shot from yesterday afternoon… 58023 and 56006 (masquerading as 56042 and 56008… Depending on which side you looked) double head a train to Rawtenstall. 😊
