huge thank you to @trcoa for inviting me as their guest speaker last month. I spoke about my story coming into the career I have now, as well as answered some practical questions about engineering and producing other artists. I think there’s a lot of reasons you could hypothesize why there aren’t a lot of women producers out there, and why it’s difficult for anybody of any background to break into this career in a liable way, but it’s the responsibility of working engineers & producers occupying this career to create a culture that’s welcoming and supportive of young creatives and women who want to make records. Music is at its best when there’s collaboration involved from people with diverse experiences, and even though social media applies pressure to do everything yourself and be a one man success story, i want to encourage anyone trying to break into music to reach out to your neighbor and find a community. Full video at the link in my bio 🖤
