It was such a great pleasure and so much fun to work on Britten’s Noye’s Fludde as my last engagement with @laopera this season! What a meaningful project this is. Thank you @conlonconductor! 🕊️

FIRST HALF MARATHON BABY!!!!
We did it!!! I started my running journey last May after a long recovery from “the foot incident of 2023” (#fallrisk) and I am pretty damn proud to have been able to run this race with my bestie this morning.

Special thanks to @omerika__direct for waiting years to be my running buddy and for distracting me for 13.1 miles, @jeffldalley and @baretth for braving the Pasadena roads to cheer us on, and @trdbbs and @writtenbylarissa for being the most enthusiastic people on the route 🎉

Great musical or…the GREATEST musical? Delighted to celebrate my friend @daniicastoriaa as she got to go on in the role of Anita in WEST SIDE STORY at @laopera for their big Saturday evening performance.

Having played the role of Maria, this show has a special place in my career as my final non-union job before joining @actorsequity

Daniella has played Diana Morales and I have played Connie Wong in A CHORUS LINE, which is how we met. Always interesting to see how performers overlap in these two historic shows.

Shoutout to @trdbbs for always gracing me with enviable orchestra seating! Brava Daniella! #actresslife #dancerlife #singerlife

It’s not every day you get to work with a music staff of this caliber; thank you all for making this Rigoletto @laopera one to remember!

During Asian Pacific Heritage month, I think a lot about Madama Butterfly. Giacomo Puccini unleashed this masterpiece in 1904, and since then, it remains the only opera in the mainstream canon that centers a Japanese woman. Every time I sing from this score I feel so much gratitude for both my Japanese heritage as well as my ability to help keep this music alive with my own voice. The haters who want this piece abandoned are the ones who don’t love the music, and sorry not sorry, but they can take several seats. Leave the discourse to those of us who are invested in the art form and the composers. End rant. #operasinger #sopranolife #opera #madamabutterfly #aapi #aapiheritagemonth @laopera @trdbbs

After a stunningly powerful performance of Rufus Wainwright’s Dream Requiem with my favorite job on the planet The Los Angeles Master Choral and post concert martinis with friendships old and my friend Eric who presented me with a red rose when I picked him up for the concert and whose first time to attend a concert was last night although previously he wrote a manual for the industrial ducting required at WDCH and was hired to inspect and sign off on it upon completion !!
