A pirate ship! The designer and foreman - a 9 year old. Built in, Saugatuck, MI. Every day he would come home from school and check in on the progress of his ship making sure everything was just right. 👌

We’ve been told, it was just right.

We are excited to share the progress being made on our treehouse!! We had some delays with construction, but it is wonderful to see things coming along. Thank you to Tree Top Builders for all of their hard work! Stay tuned for a grand opening next spring!

Time for the roof! Measure twice (or three or four times), cut once!!!! Every project is a learning experience. The details and behind the scenes work is often messy and exhausting. Valuing nature and making play available through the use of up-cycled and sustainable materials is my mission. A slice of adventure, a quaint space in the forest to imagine, play and escape from distractions. A backyard tree fort has many benefits! #Tree House list just a few:
1. Encouraging outdoor play
2. Stimulating physical activity
3. Promoting cognitive development
4. Enhancing social skills
5. Boosting imagination and creativity
6. Provide sense of ownership and responsibility

These guys sure do get a lot done for how much I catch them just “hanging” around. As always, the crew @treetopbuilders is always crushing it.

I’m on site out here in New York with @treetopbuilders. We are working on a canopy walk for @tanglewood_nature_center. It’s very exciting seeing it all come along.

One year ago I had no idea what a “dream job” was supposed to look like. I just knew what brought me joy, and I kept chasing it.

Somehow, that led me here — building treehouses with a small company of great people who’ve let me become more fully myself in the process.

I didn’t find this job. I pitched myself into it. Maybe that’s allowed more often than we think.

Here’s to another year of building.

We got some pretty interesting perspectives up in the trees this week while building out this canopy walk in upstate New York.

The team is absolutely crushing it over at @treetopbuilders. But they are also having a good time together too. Couldn’t ask for a better crew.

I build treehouses now!
Ok, that’s not quite true. I work for @treetopbuilders, and they build treehouses. I make a nature show about it called Elevated Spaces. @elevatedspaces.tv.

I’m more on the creative side of things internally. Anyway, here is a treehouse “we” built. I did make the video…

Behind the scenes action treehouse attachment bolt installation. The trees actually grow around the TABs- like growing a new limb! The TAB attaches to a bracket mounted to the beams supporting the house. The tree and TAB bolt move relative to bracket so the house doesn’t sway too much in the wind. 💨 #treetopbuilders #BTS #treehousemagic

Time to put on our building shorts, spring is here and the phones are ringing off the hook. This is my first spring working with @treetopbuilders, and it’s a pretty crazy time of year. Who knew?

Have any questions about treehouses, drop me a message. Or just say hi to say hi.

Or find me on YouTube and subscribe over there. You know, for kicks.

What if the thing stressing you out and the thing opening your life are the same moment — just seen from different angles?

Learning to look for both sides has been slowing time down for me, bringing me back to center… and somehow it led me to a life I never planned — building treehouses of all things. 🌿
