○ Reading preferences challenge
•
The lovely @proudtobeabookaholic asked about my reading preferences, so, here we go!
•
📖 Starting a book or finishing it?
Ugh, both? Haha, The anticipation of starting a book you've looked forward to and the satisfaction of finishing a really good book are two feelings that are hard to beat.

📖 In Swedish or English?
Swedish if it's written in Swedish, otherwise English.

📖 New or old releases?
Doesn't matter.

📖 Speculative fiction or autofiction?
Definitely speculative fiction.

📖 Romance or thriller/mystery?
HAHAHAHA, romance.

📖 Standalone or series?
This is a hard one. While I love getting to know characters in depth and throughout a large stretch of time, series are wonderful. But a good written standalone can also be hard to beat.

📖 Reading in silence or with music/noice?
With some kind of background noice please.

📖 At morning, evening or night?
Yes, yes and yes.

📖 Paperback, hardcover or ebook?
Paperback or hardcover!

📖 Reading drink: coffee or tea?
Coffee ♡

📖 Annotating or just reading?
Both, I'd love to annotate more though, but I'm usually so into the reading haha.

📖 Do you read the synopsis?
Yes, I do. When I was a kid, I usually read the last page of books as well.

📖 Sitting, lying down or walking?
Sitting or halfway lying down haha

📖 Alone or together?
I really love a reading date or having someone next to me while reading.

📖 Bookmark or dog earing?
Both, but trying to become more of a bookmark girlie.

📖 Mood reader or TBR?
HAHAH, I wish I was a tbr reader, I'm trying to trick myself into becoming one.

○ Chunky Monkey Book Challenge
•
@proudtobeabookaholic tagged me in the #chunkymonkeybookchallenge yesterday, and as I did love a good book challenge, here we are.
•
Most of my chunky books are romantasy and fantasy. It takes a few pages for really good world building and character development in those genres. I don't complain, I love a chunky book, or two, or a hundred....
•
Tagging a few of you, but as usual, no pressure and if you feel like doing it but I haven't tagged you, go for it!

Five Star Predictions ✨
A while ago, I was tagged in this challenge by my dear, dear friend @michas.secret.library — and let me tell you, I struggled! Predicting which books will be five-star reads feels almost impossible for me. Honestly, I sometimes think ratings are kind of arbitrary 😅 I still use them, of course — I just can’t promise they follow any logic that makes sense to anyone but me.

So here are five books from my Shelf of Read Now Books that, for various reasons, I think I’m going to absolutely love:

📗 In Every Mirror She’s Black — Lola Akinmade Åkerström
💛 Butter — Asako Yuzuki
❤️ Crook Manifesto — Colson Whitehead
💙 Wandering Stars — Tommy Orange
🌍 Beautiful World, Where Are You — Sally Rooney

Do you have books sitting on your shelves that you’re convinced will be amazing? ⭐
And do you rate your reads — or are you more of a vibes-only reader like me? 😄

P.S. I tagged a few of you, but absolutely no pressure. And if you see this and want to join in, please do — I’d love to see your hopefuls! 💫🤍

📓TBR Stack📓

Tysm for the tag @on_jayysbooknook ☺️🖤

💭 is your tbr pile in your head or do you write them down somewhere?

a tbr book you’re most excited for: I’m already reading TSOTF and Blackfire 🫨🙌🏽 so next in line is Jade City!!!

a book that’s new to your tbr: isolate…I have absolutely no idea what this is about but I liked the cover 🤣

a tbr book by your favorite author: Martha Wells…I feel like she’s becoming a fav if that counts?? Y’all know how I am, don’t judge me lol

a book that’s not your genre: lonesome dove! I’m so stoked to read this one🙌🏽

a book that’s been on your tbr the longest: The Grace of Kings

📖 4 books on my TBR
🤩 3 books I always recommend

📘 1 current read

📚 Here is my take on How Many Words Challenge 📚

I was tagged to this fun one by @abbysgbooks and @quietfiveminutes 🥰

I could only make it up to a 7-word title. I do have a 9-word title (The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner) but since I don’t own any 8-word titles, I couldn’t continue after 7. Still, it was such a fun challenge to browse my shelves and realize how wordy some of these titles are. ☺️

I tagged a few of you to join, but of course no pressure. I’d love to see anyone’s take on this, especially if you can go beyond 9! 😄

Now you tell me: Do you prefer short, snappy titles or long, elaborate ones? And what’s the longest book title you own? Let's chat! 💬👀

Here’s my take on the single word stack 📚

I was tagged by the lovely @ballardbookz and it was such a fun challenge to dig through my shelves and find titles that say so much with just one word. 🥰

I’ve tagged a few of you to join in, but no pressure, as always. Just sharing the bookish joy. 😌

Have you read any from this stack? And tell me: what’s your favorite one-word book title? Drop it in the comments and I might add it to my TBR! 💬👀

🖤 Here is my Black Book Stack 🖤

I was tagged by @abbysgbooks for the Black Stack Challenge a little while ago. Thank you so much for the tag! 🥰 It took me a bit to put this together, but here it finally is. ✨️

Black covers seem to be the most common on my shelves. I actually had even more, but this was all I could manage to hold for the photo! So here’s a little glimpse of my black-covered collection. 🤗

I’ve tagged a few of you. Feel free to join in if you’d like, but absolutely no pressure. ☺️

👉 Now I’m curious: do you love a minimalist book cover, or do you prefer more colourful ones? Let’s chat in the comments! 💬👀
