Yesterday was our neighborhood's annual spring plant share. I usually bring seeds, but this year, I was a bit more prepared and loaded up my wagon with #japaneseredmustard #agastache and #beebalm to give away. I forgot to take a picture of all the plants I picked up, but they included #pinkbells #hellebores a #rubbertreeplant #thornlessblackberries #yarrow #bluephlox and some heat resistant lettuce seeds. My partner in crime, @nofilteroverthinker scored some #hardybegonia and an #arrowheadplant

In the beforetimes, we also had an annual block party and a fall plant share. This is such a great tradition. The shares have been great for meeting neighbors and diversifying our gardens.

Even some non-gardeners came by today. We may have converted a few 😂. They were curious and you know gardeners, we're happy to talk plants. In the end, one non-gardening couple left with #ajuga #pachysandra #phlox, agastache, and bee balm. They'd just moved in and they were jazzing up their front yard, so free plants were a great find for them and there were plenty of garden aunties around to help them.

If you haven't organized something like this, I strongly recommend doing so. It doesn't have to be a huge to do. One of our neighbors manages a list serv with neighborhood announcements. She solicits a different host every year and that host decides what they want to offer, in terms of the set up. Sometimes there's coffee and pastries, sometimes not. Today, there were individual drinks in a cooler to comply with covid precautions. Neighbors provide tables and bring by seeds, starts, bulbs, cuttings, etc to share. They ask that you label the plants with growing instructions etc. We get a pretty good variety of planty things. Yesterday, there was even a composter offered!

This was our 2nd share during the pandemic and everyone wore a mask and distanced. We made it work. I have to say, these shares have been one of the highlights of the past year.

Does your neighborhood do anything like this?

I am a Woman!..... I build .... I don't tear down other women! ....I have felt the pain of being torn down and I have decided I will be deliberate about building others! If I didn't tag you, please don't be offended. I tried to pick people I thought would do this challenge!! All too often, we women find it easier to criticize each other, instead of building each other up. With all the negativity going around let's do something positive!!🌟 Upload 1 picture of yourself...ONLY you. Then tag as many gorgeous women to do the same. Let's build ourselves up, instead of tearing ourselves down. 💛💛💛💛 COPY AND PASTE

It's a great day to start the year off by putting positive things into YOU...The food you consume believe it or not has the authority to determine what kind of day you will have. Eat healthy living fruits and vegetables and watch how good you feel.
