London Life | Trying new hobbies 🤎

📍 Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Tottenham, North London
🎨 Ronan & Friends Art/Community Day
📅 15 August 2026

I’m catching up on my posting schedule, so here’s a look back at some of the things I got up to this summer.

I tried yarn weaving and flower arranging at this art and community day. Both are harder than they look!

I’ve been documenting my offline activities on my vlog, and this summer I also started journalling on Substack as a way to document this chapter of my life.

For Spring 2027, Nicolas Ghesquière chose to present an optimistic way of imagining what could come next, with the suspension of hover cars above the historic Cour Carrée du Louvre for a collection titled ‘Ergonomie.’ This futuristic skyline represented dynamic movement and forward momentum, in contrast to the current climate that itself feels suspended. And in applying a noticeably lighter hand to his clothes the collection was also engineered to encourage movement by following the contours of body rather than restricting it through the rigidity of the past.

At Hermès, Nadège Vanhée continues to prove her creative evolution doesn’t require a reinvention of the wheel. Working within the framework of a house where leather remains the foundation, for Spring 2027 the artistic director challenged its associations with weight and durability to propose something lighter.

Through laser-cutting, aeration, splicing and surface manipulation, leather became an unlikely answer to the question of how we’ll dress for summer next season.

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s Spring 2027 collection for Loewe sharpened their emerging vision for the house by filtering American sportswear through its established eccentricity, with a greater emphasis on commercial, everyday silhouettes.

Rick Owens’ Spring 2027 womenswear collection, titled Stone, reframed stoicism as a form of resistance, translating ideas of strength, acceptance, and tolerance into increasingly defined silhouettes shaped by industrial materials and rigid construction
