how does one say goodbye to something they built their life on? a moment I didn’t expect to come so soon. thank you for all of the years and memories you’ve given me. I couldn’t have made it this far without cross country being in my life. running has changed my perspective on many things. Not only does it shape me physically but it shapes me mentally and spiritually as well. most of you know about the struggles with my physical health within the past 5 years and how it have changed the course of my life; but most don’t know what goes on behind the scenes outside of the physical aspects. running has been an outlet for the past 7 years of my life; it has kept me from giving up, even though there were moments I didn’t have any hope left. I thank you for keeping me strong and helping me grow into the woman I am today. I thank my coaches for pushing me and encouraging me through races and workouts. I thank my family members for cheering me on and being there when it matters most. And most importantly I thank the team for keeping me motivated, grow close connections with each other and helping me push through rough times even whenever I wasn’t able to run. I think it’s astonishing that my last race in cross country is at our home course. I thank you for all of the memories and moments that you have brought me. Thank you cross country.

‘Run with gratitude’ that’s the saying that has been told to me over and over again, and it is something I try to live by. My track career is not possible without the help of God and everyone around there. Considering everything that has happened I am extremely lucky to call myself a state finalist and an All-State Athlete.

Senior season may not have gone exactly the way I planned it and I may not have hit all the times I wanted, but I am extremely grateful for it. So thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout all of my running career. Thank you especially to my coach Bill Kaiser who has given so much of his time and effort into shaping me into the best athlete I can be. He not only pushed me physically but also mentally through his daily lessons and faith life.

Thank you track for giving me so many memories. I used to be embarrassed about running as it was not the ‘cool’ sport in middle school but it earned me the title ‘Fastest man alive’ so I’ll take it. It has been such a huge part of my life and it is hard to believe it is all over now.

Thank you to my teammates who were always there to support me. Running would not be the same without you guys and I am glad to call you my teammates. You all are so much more to me than that and I will truly miss those days with you.

Finally, as Coach would say, ‘Run to compete don’t worry about the times as they will come with race,’ so live in the present and appreciate those horrible 1k repeats.

*I sniped some photos from people so thank you to everyone who took them as well. Especially KratzCam, Bao, and Mr. Murhpy

A sport that has brought me so many memories and taught myself so many lessons. These past 5 years have been the best 5 years I could ask for with these amazing teammates. This team is the team that always has your back and is there for you. SCHS Track and Field is a family that I am more than lucky to be apart of. I will miss the awful workouts, puking in my bucket, and messing up pole vaulting over and over again.

I love this family
