I honestly don’t know where the time went. I’m looking at a young man who has grown, overcome, learned, and continued to push forward through every season of his life.
Trevion, being your mother has been one of the greatest blessings God has ever given me. There have been moments when I wanted to protect you from every hurt, every disappointment, every setback, and everything in this world that could ever cause you pain. But as you grew older, I realized that part of being your mother was also learning when to let you find your own way, make your own decisions, learn your own lessons, and become who God created YOU to be. That hasn’t always been easy for me, because in my eyes, you will forever be my baby.
Your journey has not always looked like everyone else’s, and I want you to know that it was never supposed to. God has a plan specifically designed for your life. I have watched you continue to work hard, maintain your grades, pursue your goals, grow in your faith, and keep moving forward even when things didn’t happen the way you expected. I am so INCREDIBLY proud of you.
My prayer for you is that you never forget who you are or WHOSE you are. Keep God at the center of your life. When you don’t know which direction to go, pray. When life gets heavy, pray. When you accomplish everything you dreamed about, pray and give God the glory. Never become so grown that you forget the foundation that carried you this far.
I pray God continues to protects you. I pray he continues to gives you wisdom. I pray he continues to places genuine people around you who love you for who you are and not for what you can do for them. I pray he continues to give you the strength to walk away from anything that threatens your peace, your future, your faith, or your purpose.
Walk boldly into this next chapter, son. Be fearless. Be humble. Be kind. Protect your heart. Stand on your values. Chase your dreams. Keep God first. And don’t forget to give yourself grace!
Happy 18th Birthday, Trevion!!!
You will forever be my baby, my heart, and one of my greatest blessings.
I love you beyond words, beyond measure, and beyond a lifetime.
Welcome to Chapter 18!!!
