KRC X ON ☁️🧡 20/09

What a morning!

From trialling the LightSpray Cloudmonster 3‘s, to a warm-up led by @runner.cal & @itsjoshmoody, tunes on the cycle path, a cool-down and then back to the coffee shop for coffee, @fed.303 pastries and a chat with Callum & Josh about all things running.

More than just the miles.

A morning about bringing people together, trying something new and creating a space where everyone can get involved! Whether you’re running, jogging or walking. All ages, all abilities, all welcome! 🙌

A huge thank you to @on team for making the morning what it was, and to EVERYONE who came down and got involved!

DON’T MOVE THE WAY FEAR MAKES YOU MOVE.
MOVE THE WAY LOVE MAKES YOU MOVE.

I came to Scandinavia for the Scandinavian Double and managed half of it.
Please don’t think for a second that I’m not proud of finishing another Ironman, because I am. I’m very proud of finishing it despite everything that happened during the day. I’m just frustrated and disappointed that I wasn’t fit or healthy enough to be on the start line of Ironman Copenhagen the following day.

Was I disappointed to be so far away from my usual Ironman time? Yes, absolutely. I’d be lying if I said otherwise. I normally run the marathon feeling happy, and when you have to walk, it’s not easy.
But, as I said before, I left my ego at the door and did the best I could with what the day gave me.

I did this for @mulberrybushcharity , I gave it a good go. I’m sad I wasn’t able to complete months of work, training and financial sacrifices, but I will always choose my health first.

I’m not paid to do this. I do it because it’s one of the things that makes my life a masterpiece. It challenges me, humbles me, and pushes me to grow with a bigger skill set and a stronger mindset.

Thanks for the lesson, Kalmar.

I’ll take it with me. 🤍

UK Coaching Week 2026
———
Today we hear from John W, Bristol Henleaze masters swimmer and triathlon coach.💙

Since joining the club John has been setting British Age Group records and winning European Masters Medals. John is a great role model for our younger swimmers, demonstrating that with consistent training you can continue to reach your goals.
———
For me as an athlete and a coach, coaching means a few things - something that I look for from my coach, or something I aim to be for athletes.
I want to be able to advise and assist, whether that’s a technique correction, carrying out of a session, or planning training up to an event - or around obstacles.

I’m incredibly lucky with the coaches we have at BHSC - Jez, Aiden, Jen and John F - that I get all of the above as a swimmer and more. They’re incredibly supportive and knowledgeable and more than happy to give a kick up the ass when it’s needed.
