Last week we did something I’ve been wanting to do my whole life in NYC but just never got around to it. We sailed the NYC harbor at sunset and I can say it far exceeded my expectations. Just the 3 of us and Captain Clark. I surprised my guys 2 days ahead of dropping Van off for his 3rd year at @syracuseu. It was beautiful weather and one of the best things I’ve ever done in NYC. To be on the Hudson and see all sides from that perspective was nothing less than spectacular! I fell asleep towards the end of our 2 hours lying down face up to the night sky with the gentle waves rocking me to sleep and the city’s glimmering lights in the distance. What great way to spend some time with people you love. Thank you Thomas at @tribecasailing and of course Captain Clark! Can’t wait to do it again soon

Some bridal stories are meant to be told on land. This one belonged to the water.

We started with a soft, polished bridal look designed to feel romantic while holding beautifully through the wind, movement, and changing light. As the boat left the shore, the city slowly transformed behind us, from warm golden hour to the sparkling Manhattan skyline.

There was wind in her veil, music on the water, and that quiet kind of chemistry that made every frame feel like a scene from a movie.

Seeing the complete vision come together reminded me why I love collaborative shoots so much. Every person brought something really special to this story, and together we created a little piece of bridal magic in New York.

Every photo on my website is of real clients, I had never done a styled shoot. To me they felt like the opposite of a wedding, perfect conditions, no strict timeline, no regular wedding chaos. I've seen beautiful, creative work from others' styled shoots but I never felt inspired to partake.

Then, not too long ago, @vavilon_style_ reached out and had the idea doing a session on a boat. That is one thing I've always wanted to do, and I'm so glad I got to be part of it. And honestly the restricted amount of time, space and having the captain be our practice groom added just enough chaos.

Now I really really want to photograph an elopement or any kind of session on a sailboat.

Craft beer is about community.

Simply put, we do not survive if we don't listen to you, work for you, and embrace what you do.

Our tasting rooms are quite literally community centers for the arts, makers, hard workers, tourists, other small businesses, and otherwise thirsty patrons. We're celebration points for life, love, birthdays, and triumph.

We do our best to go above and beyond to provide not just liquid, but a service, a home, an ear, and even opportunity for our neighbors.

We truly don't exist without you.

So we would be remiss if we didn't go out of our way to say THANK YOU to all of you that reminded us why we do what we do over the last week.

As Brian said to The Gothamist during an interview this week, when they asked if he would consider moving because of the latest flood... we wouldn't want to be anywhere else... just, maybe, drier.

The last week has been a roller coaster of emotions. The pipe break is one of the lowest lows you can feel (for the 7th time), but reading all of your comments truly picked us back up by our boot straps. Then it comes crashing back down when you grasp the work, lawyer fights, and insurance battles. But you pick us right back up with how you supported our golf outing - where 100% of the proceeds are donated to Breast Cancer and Rare Disease Research.

Jersey City is home, and we love it here. PAD is our home, and we love it here.

And we love all of you.

Now, I can't figure out everyone's names from instagram and twitter handles, but please know, if I could, I would, and you'd be on this slide.

That said, we know a lot of our small business community was also hit by the rain. Might not have had the best weekend. Might even be struggling with their own thing.

BUT they get that community too.

These small businesses also make Jersey City great. Unique. A Destination. And they all show it back just like us.

We immensely appreciate their love and support this week, too. If you're hanging around Jersey City, show them some love this weekend!
