First triathlon on your mind? From Zero to Tri is for you, and it’s free.

Add it to your race entry at CLASH Daytona (December 4 to 6) or CLASH Coastal Mississippi (April 2 to 4 in Gulfport) and you get a rotating roster of coaches, like U.S. Olympian Jarrod Shoemaker and IRONMAN champion Lisa Roberts, plus CLASH Ambassadors and the TriDot coaching staff. Before race day there are virtual Q+A sessions on gear, fueling, the course and transition, and a community forum full of other first timers. On race day you get your own start time, designated bike racks and experts on site if anything comes up. Registering now? Pick From Zero to Tri in the add-on section. Already signed up? Click Edit Registration and add it there.

Questions about From Zero to Tri? Contact us at info@clash-usa.com!

Racing Daytona? Get a look at the course before you get there. Join @tridottraining Coach Dan Caskie and Race Director Andre Lapar for the CLASH Daytona Race Recon Webinar, presented by TriDot, live Thursday, October 29 at 7 PM ET. They’ll walk through the course, the views from inside the Speedway and new events like the Redline Relay and Test Track. Bring your questions.

Stop using mile one as your warmup. 🏃‍♀️

Save this for your next run.

This is just one piece of the puzzle, but it’s an important one. Here’s why:

⚡ Neuromuscular: primes the connection between your brain and your legs, so your muscles respond faster and more powerfully from the first step
🦵 Mechanics: rehearses good posture, knee drive and foot strike before fatigue sets in
🧠 Mental: a routine that tells your body “we’re running now.” You start focused instead of rushing out the door

What each drill does:
• High knees: hip flexor activation and quick turnover
• Butt kicks: hamstring and quad warmup, faster heel recovery
• Open/close the gate: hip mobility in every direction, glute activation
• Hamstring scoops: loosens hamstrings and calves through movement
• A-skips: coordination of knee drive, arm swing and landing under your hips
• Pogo hops: ankle stiffness and elastic “spring” off the ground

Yes, I do others. What are your go-to run drills? 👇

You make time for the swim, bike, and run. Is sleep getting whatever’s left? 😴

When you’re balancing training with work and family, recovery can be the first thing squeezed out of the schedule.

In this clip from the TriDot Podcast, the conversation turns to prioritizing sleep and making room for the training extras that are easy to skip.

What’s hardest for you to fit in: sleep, strength, or recovery?

Women are still less than 25% of IRONMAN athletes, and at full distance it’s closer to 17%.

The growth we’re seeing is mostly coming from women under 30. Registrations there are up 36%. So if you’re in your 30s, 40s, 50s or beyond, the sport is still figuring out how to reach you.

What women say holds them back:
⏱️ Time and family demands (56%)
💸 Cost (up to 67% say it stops them from entering)
❓ Not knowing whether they’ll make the cutoff or what race day involves
🤝 Not knowing anyone in the sport to ask

You don’t need 15 hours a week. You don’t need a tri bike. It doesn’t have to be an IRONMAN. A local sprint counts.

If you’re curious but don’t know where to start, comment “TRI” 👇 I’ll set you up with 4 free weeks of training, plus access to our G2G Endurance team chat and team calls.

Dear Village: This finish line has my name on it, but the medal belongs to you.

You’ve seen the highs and lows of my health battles this year. But behind the scenes, surviving those lows and making it to this start line was a team of people. Swipe for more captions.

And to the many people not pictured here who were absolute prayer warriors for me this season—thank you. I felt every single one of those prayers out there on the course.

Triathlon looks like an individual sport, but I didn’t get here by myself. I was carried by my village, and this finish line belongs entirely to you all.

After months of exhausting dead ends and treating symptoms rather than root causes, I finally found a doctor who uncovered the actual issue and gave me my hope back. Most docs would have told me to end my season to focus on healing, but he helped me find a way to treat it while still letting me train.

To Mark: thank you for your optimism & wisdom. You had hope even when I didn’t. Thank you for constantly modifying the plan and expertly navigating that razor-thin line between what my battered body could actually recover from, and what it physically takes to survive an Ironman.
To Eric: thank you for your incredible, unwavering support behind the scenes, and for stepping up to be such a rock for me, especially through the chaos of race week.

To Shawn: thank you for fixing me up all year long, even stepping in during race week when you were on vacation. Your ART and fascia work gave my body its absolute best chance at functioning when neurologically it just wanted to shut down.

To my training partners: thank you for slowing down. When my body and mind were both empty, you threw out your own paces just to keep my mind company. You made sure I never had to suffer alone on the mornings I was struggling mentally just to get out of bed to train.

To Team Mauna: for gearing me up with the best kits and teammates for my 3rd season. Thank you!

To Carrie: for being a constant in the chaos. For being an outlet when I needed to vent and for infusing me with confidence and optimism when I was running empty.

To my twin sister, Kate: thank you for bein

A fun weekend in Louisville capped with a father-daughter half marathon. We were both commenting on our changed running perspective after living in Colorado. The hills were fun and the extra oxygen was great.
True to my education from @triathlonnutritionacademy who discourges alcohol after events I had my bourbon shot at mile 10 instead. 😇😊 Probably not the intended learning but it was an event with the intention of having fun and not focusing on a time goal.
