Your sport isn’t played from a flat foot position so when you are strength training you don’t want to only do movements where your feet are flat on the ground.

Performing strength movements on the balls of the feet can be beneficial for athletes, especially for sports that require explosiveness, agility, and balance. This positioning engages the calf muscles, enhances stability, and improves proprioception (body awareness) by mimicking the movements athletes perform in their sport, like jumping, sprinting, or changing direction quickly.

Training on the balls of the feet also helps strengthen the muscles and tendons in the lower leg, foot, and ankle, which are critical for absorbing impact forces and propelling movements.
