POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We had the honor of hosting our dear friends @marcia_maizelclarke & @alanasweetwater for an intimate book signing and Q&A celebrating Marcia’s book, More Than Millions: Finding the Gold Within 💛

A beautiful reminder that life’s greatest riches aren’t always measured in numbers, but in the purpose, love, and meaning we discover along the way.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a special evening at Lumber + Linen. And to Marcia & Alana, thank you for sharing your story, wisdom, and heart with us. 🤍

Stationery Bar, Heather’s way.

For her bespoke stationery suite, Heather chose a chalk white notecard and envelope, green floral envelope liners, forest green ink, French School typeface, and a sweet stemmed flower icon. All beautifully packaged in a sorbet yellow keepsake box. We love to see how people’s personalities shine through their paper!

Stationery Bar makes its debut at @thisislibertyroad LIVE Summit this Thursday 10/1. Participants will have the opportunity to design their own custom stationery during the event (and we just confirmed the goodies we’re putting in the gift bags 😏)

Tickets at the link in bio 🎟️

Stay tuned for more Stationery Bar pop-ups in LA (and beyond?!) as well as our online launch on October 15. You’ll be able to design and customize your stationery from wherever you are and have it sent right to your door! 💌

‘MORE THAN MILLIONS: FINDING THE GOLD WITHIN” A CONVERSATION + Q & A WITH SPECIAL GUESTS!
$30 🫶🏼💛📖

Join us for an intimate evening with Marcia Maizel-Clarke, founder of Dogeared Jewelry and author of More Than Millions: Finding the Gold Within, for a conversation on purpose, intuition, resilience, and trusting where life leads.

@marcia_maizelclarke will be joined by Heather Trilling, a former nurse turned landscape designer and entrepreneur. Heather is the founder of @lumberandlinen and @trillinglandscape 🌱

Also joining the conversation is @alanasweetwater 🎤, a singer-songwriter whose path evolved into her work today as an intuitive guide, psychic, and medium.

While their journeys are very different, each has navigated unexpected turns, career shifts, and reinvention. Together, they’ll share their stories and insights on following intuition, embracing change, and finding purpose along the way.

Back home means first things first, let’s check on how all my plants did while I was away. With the help of @trillinglandscape, I’ve slowly been learning which plants, trees, and flowers actually thrive in our hot climate. 🌿

We still have a lot of work to do improving our soil, but we’ve had great success with Santa Barbara sage, olive trees, westringia, and white gaura. It’s been so rewarding to watch the garden slowly soften and fill in over time.

If you’re gardening in a hot, dry climate, these have been some of our most reliable favorites.

August 20, 2019 changed Peyton’s life—and mine too.
We were on vacation in Bruin Woods when we received an email from Peyton’s dad saying she most likely had sarcoma. I didn’t know what to do, but I knew I wanted to be close to the family. I drove down from Lake Arrowhead to see them. They needed time alone and hadn’t even told Pey yet.
That news changed me forever. I had been a smoker for more than 40 years, and that day I quit—cold turkey. In the midst of such devastating news, my life shifted in ways I never expected.
I didn’t know that our hug on September 7th would be my last hug with Peyton. I truly believed she would live a lot longer. That makes the memory even more precious—and more heartbreaking.
Peyton’s time was cut heartbreakingly short one month ago today. She was just 17, surrounded by her family. I am forever grateful for the many family vacations and memories we shared. She was a beautiful angel here on earth, and I know she’s an angel in Heaven now.

i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, @lumberandlinen is one of the absolute best spots around for fun finds, gifts and pure magic ✨

while i’ve been a less mobile, the team dropped the sweetest gift that truly made me “mom of the weekend”! every second making this with bean was so special and she was extra excited, me too!, with the 🦖 charm.

i don’t have the ideas or the crafty gene, so i’m forever thankful for this gem of a store always having the magic for every season. plus, all their sourcing is supporting other small businesses — truly the best!!

kits are in stock now and perfect for the next few weekends before halloween! anyone else getting full practical magic vibes?!? margarita time?

**pps - this store is the dream team behind @trillinglandscape — they also do porch and in-home decorating for holidays and throughout the year. 🍁🍂
