This past weekend, we put on four performances of The Nutcracker at @shastacollege with the Shasta Symphony Orchestra. It was the first time The Nutcracker has been done in the North State with a live orchestra, and one of many recent productions of an increasingly impressive caliber that I’ve had the pleasure of working on at Shasta College.

There’s nothing that makes me feel more fulfilled than this—seeing little kids leaning over the railing to look at the orchestra, twirling around the halls at intermission after watching the dancers, and meeting teary-eyed older folks who are hearing a live orchestra for the first time at 80 (or even seeing their first live show).

Of all my professional artistic engagements, there’s just nothing that fills my heart more than the work we’ve done here with these collaborations—spreading excitement about the arts in our community, where it really makes a difference.

I’m so thankful for Dr. Jeff Specht, Diana Christensen, and all the other wonderful folks who continue to make these incredible shows happen, while being incredible to work with. This is just the beginning!

🥧🪿 PUMPKIN PIE GOOSE IS LIVE !!! 🪿🥧

After an intense battle with Canva this morning (there was an outage, of course!) I am excited to announce that my Pumpkin Pie Goose pattern is officially live on Etsy! This is a bit of a surreal moment for me to know that I can actually take the ideas that are in my brain and bring them to life.

Thank you to my testers who gave wonderful feedback and the kindest of words to me! I am very grateful to see all of these cuties come to life and to see each person give their own personal touches to them!! 🧡

I have something new and porch goose related cooking up that I am hoping to get created and ask for testers for next week 🤞💚❤️

Link to my etsy is in the bio, thank you to all the wonderful friends who have encouraged me and my crazy ideas! 🫶

kNOwBOX dance film festival is tomorrow!!
“The Hourglass” ⏳✨was selected to be part of it and I’m so excited for more people to get to immerse themselves in this work.
I’m honor of that, here are some of my favorite parts of the process and and new angle of some sections ¨̮

1: quiet stage after our first dress w/the sand. In complete awe
2: backstage view of the sand fall
3: beginning of girls section from balcony
4: schmidt having zoomies when I was trying to think up some choreo for alayna and daniel’s pas
5: trying to count the music for the girls section- losing my mind and looking like a schizophrenic…a lot of my journal looked like this…
6: autumn and sam waltz pas from the balcony
7: i’d dream up choreo at 2am, roll over and voice memo myself. Sometimes I couldn’t understand it in the morning. Sometimes I could and it worked
8: sand everywhere- from the wings
9: please be aware🤷🏼‍♀️
10: michelle and autumn from the balcony with the sand
11: michelle and I on our day off in the freezing studio
12: casting, music timestamps, theater linesets, a mockup I made of the stage
13: michelle’s isolation solo from the balcony
14: end of girls section- love some good arm work
15: alayna throwing some sand and then jumping to daniel in a blackout
16: final pas from the balcony
17: a lot of my camera roll looked like this for about a month or two
18: ripple effect from the balcony
19: “The Hourglass” really was the only acceptable answer
20: after a fun promo shoot with nick, michelle and sam
