Thrilled to announce that @alysssa.dominique won Best Actor for her role as Nora in ‘Shelf Life’ at this year’s Australian Women’s Film Festival!!

We’re beyond proud of our Alyssa - she gave a killer performance in the film and deserves every flower she gets.

Thank you so much to @australianwomensfilmfestival for the win and an incredible screening, and also for nominating us for Best Comedy.

We’re still pinching ourselves - what an awesome night, and what an incredible slate of women-led films! Congratulations to our fellow finalists and to all the other winners, it was such an honour to meet you and screen alongside you 💃

And there’s plenty more to come, including the AWFF Trailblazer Award presented to Nicole Kidman, the Groundbreaker Award presented to Causeway Films founders Kristina Ceyton & Samantha Jennings, and our 2026 awards ceremony.

Someone tell the Western Australia that they misplaced the sun, because they get sunsets over the ocean!? 🌊 ☀️

Had the opportunity to visit Western Australia for the first time ever with @trinityleighk as @shelflife.film got into @cinefestoz !!

I got to meet some incredibly beautiful people and talented filmmakers in all different stages of their careers, from all across Australia! It makes me feel very united that a bunch of us creatives are all fighting to make awesome art no matter what state we live in 😌

I can only thank God for these opportunities and allowing js to experience life! I love it!

Friends from the WA, NSW, SA and the VIC. I’m so excited for the time to see you all again 😁

Pinch me - @shelflife.film is officially selected for the @australianwomensfilmfestival 🤍

This is a very big deal. One of my favourite things about our film is not only that it’s a unique woman-led story, but that it was created by a majority female crew. 6/8 of our HODs on this film were women, and that’s only counting the major roles.

You hear a lot of ridiculous phrases when it comes to job equality, especially for crew and leadership roles in film. ‘We just want to hire the best person!’ ‘There’s not enough women going for it!’ To use this film as a case study: we got the best people, they happened to be women, and they were VERY EASY to find! In fact, in my naivety, it didn’t hit me while I was on set. I’ve only realised how rare this was to see since graduating and moving further into the industry.

Every woman you see pictured above (and this only scratches the surface of our crew) worked their guts off to create exceptional work and lead their team well on an incredibly demanding project. It was a joy to collaborate with them all on my biggest film yet as a director, and I’ve loved getting to say their names when anyone compliments the cinematography, sound design, editing, or prod design. Every accolade we receive is just more evidence as to what can happen when women are given platform and opportunity - we create amazing stuff!

So, thank you, @australianwomensfilmfestival, for the recognition, and a special thank you to the girlies that made Shelf Life with me, especially the following HODs:

If I had a nickel for every time I filmed in a forest at night time and it rained. I would have 2 nickels, because I love making sick ass ideas in a forest🌳🌧️

Had the wonderful opportunity to First AD on a music video for @ixaras upcoming song! It’s an absolutely banger of a vid so stay tuned!

Proper shoutout to the amazing producer @kaylapurbaa and the goated director @mumbala_ for gathering such a great crew and curating such an exciting environment for creativity! And of course shoutout my 2nd AD @zoya.litvi for assisting me in the lead up and stepping in as the 2nd unit 1st AD 🫶🫶

I love movies! I love music videos! And I love working with fun creatives. Keen to be part of the next one and let’s continue to keep amongst it gang🤘
