“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born, I set you apart.” ❤️ Jeremiah 1:5

When people ask me how I make sense of everything… my answer is this: Jesus.

Yes, I have an American father. I have a biological Georgian father. But above all, I yield to THE Father. And praise God that He has been taking care of all of us all along. 🥹⬇️

Growing up, I always knew I was incredibly blessed by the unconditional love of @mommahnance and @freemanrne.

My parents made me feel valued, special, adored, significant, and secure.. for my ENTIRE LIFE!

They were always working things out for my good. Being their daughter became such a hugeeee part of my identity, and I remember wishing that EVERYONE could experience that kind of love from their parents.

And of course there was another layer to it for me: I was adopted.

But getting plugged in at @trinitynewyork , finding Christian community, reading His Word daily, being in church, and genuinely developing a hunger to know God for myself has transformed my understanding of who He is.

And His love has truly blown my mind.. 😭

So when people ask how I reconcile all the different pieces of my story: adoption, America, Georgia, biological family, adoptive family, identity, belonging, the language barrier even 😂🤣, my answer is actually very simple:

Jesus.

He has been in every part of the story.. and if you’ve ever wondered whether there might be more for you too… there is.

If you’re interested in joining me at church any Sunday, you know where to find me.
