English caption ↓金曜日は23回目の結婚記念日ディナーへ🥂 今回は南西ロンドンのクラッパム、その中でも特に閑静な住宅街として知られる Clapham Old Town にある Upstairs at Trinity @trinityupstairs に行ってきました。 ミシュラン星付きレストランTrinityの上の階にある、ビブグルマン掲載のもう少しカジュアルなレストラン。入口はTrinityと同じで、中に入るとスーツ姿のスタッフの方が迎えてくれて、そのままUpstairsまで案内してくれます。ここからもう、ちょっと特別な気分。 そしてテーブルには、お店が用意してくれた結婚記念日のお祝いメッセージ入りカードが♡
席に着いた瞬間、めっちゃテンション上がりました（笑）。 記念日だとデザートのお皿にメッセージを書いてくれるレストランも多いけれど、ワインを飲むとデザートまで辿り着かないことも多い私たちには、こういうカードの方が嬉しいかも。持ち帰って思い出に残せるのも嬉しい。 店内はお洒落だけど気取りすぎず、とっても居心地のいい雰囲気。そして何より、お料理が本当に美味しかった！
最近食べたディナーの中では、一番美味しかったかも。 担当してくださった女性スタッフの方もすごくフレンドリーで、夫も珍しくずっと上機嫌（笑）。 この日のおすすめだった450gのシャトーブリアンを夫が注文したので、「え？そんな大きいお肉を頼むってことはシェアするの？」と聞いたら、 「絶対シェアしない」 と即答🤣 大好きなペッパーコーンソースと一緒に出てきて、さすがに食べるのは大変そうでしたが大満足。 私はトラウトを注文。焼き加減もちょうどよくて、こちらも本当に美味しかったです。 前菜からワインまで全部美味しくて、お腹いっぱいで結局デザートまでは辿り着けず。やっぱり最初のカードで良かった（笑）。 そして食事のあと、夫の方から「また来よう」って。
レストランを出たあとにそんなことを言うのは滅多にないので、相当気に入ったようです👍 私もまた近いうちに行きたい！ この後は、いつものウィンブルドンのパブへ🍷
続きはまた次の投稿で。 Friday night was our 23rd wedding anniversary dinner 🥂 We went to Upstairs at Trinity in Clapham @trinityupstairs , the Bib Gourmand-listed, more relaxed restaurant above Michelin-starred Trinity. From the warm welcome downstairs to being shown up to our table, it felt special from the start. And waiting for us was a lovely anniversary card from the restaurant, such a thoughtful touch and something we can keep♡ The restaurant is stylish but relaxed, and the lady who looked after us was incredibly friendly🫶 Most importantly, the food was fantastic, honestly one of the best dinners we’ve had recently. My husband ordered the 450g Chateaubriand and, when I asked if we were sharing, immediately replied, “Absolutely not.” 😂 It came with his favourite peppercorn sauce and he somehow managed almost all of it! I had the trout, perfectly cooked, and everything from the small plates to the wine was excellent. We were far too full for dessert. The biggest compliment? Afterwards my husband said, “We should come back.” He rarely says that after a restaurant meal! We both loved it and will definitely be back. Afterwards, we headed to our usual pub in Wimbledon 🍷

Upstairs…again! Another epic adventure to Sunday Lunch Club, from @adambyatt at Trinity - the top floor of their Michelin restaurant is open to diners for a more casual dining experience, at a great price as we are all served the same menu at the same time. Heartily recommend…but move quickly as the slots go fast ⚡️

📍 Upstairs at Trinity, Clapham My husband has been wanting to come here for ages. We finally made it for a belated anniversary dinner, and I’m starting to wonder why we left the quick hop south of the river for so long. The pork chop with apricot was unbelievable, but there was plenty of competition. Delicate tuna tartare, creamy vitello tonnato, and a pepper filled with ratatouille-style vegetables that deserved far more attention than we initially gave it. The veal and snail bolognese on toast was one of the most memorable dishes of the evening, and frankly of recent memory. Not an everyday toast topping, admittedly, but I’d very happily make it one. The service was also brilliant. Highly knowledgeable yet approachable and had us cracking up all night long (shout out Asher!). The anniversary card hand-signed by the team working that evening was such a lovely touch too. A lot to love here at @trinityupstairs . Hate to admit but my husband was right about this one.

3 MOUNTAINS. 3 DAYS. 300KM. 6,000M OF CLIMBING. 🚴‍♂️⛰️ The Pyrenees certainly tested us and with every climb, every kilometre and every tough moment but we remembered it was all for such a fantastic cause. A huge THANK YOU to this incredible group for the motivation, support, laughter and teamwork throughout the journey, they say you’re as good as the group you are with and what a fab group it was. A special thank you to @actionagainsthungeruk for the amazing work you do and for giving us a cause worth pushing ourselves for and of course to Charlotte and Will for arranging this fantastic trip. Not forgetting the pie guides Peter and Gideon for the class knowledge and support the whole way through. And of course, a massive THANK YOU to all our friends and family for your encouragement, generosity and belief in what we were doing. From your kind donations, @chefpiplacey for getting me involved - it was so great to cook together again, everyone attending the dinner at @trinityupstairs , @adambyatt and his fantastic team for helping pull it off and to everyone for all of your brilliant motivational messages. Your support helped keep us going when the climbs got tough! Tickets to the Highland dinner at Spruce on the 2nd of October will be released shortly so please keep an eye out for this.
