Our Grandest Athlete🏆 of the 2024 @panpacmasters Games Equestrian Dressage was Wendy Pailthorpe, born in 1948, who won double silver medals 🥈🥈; and proved it is never too late to hang up our boots💪🏻.

Thankyou Wendy for inspiring us all🙏🏻.

Hey Everyone,

Firstly thank you to everyone that has donated so far to Luke's Bangkok Journey to represent Australia. We have been having issues with the website so please bear with me. I am also changing it to have the option to directly transfer rather than use paypal. This will also give you the option to choose multiple numbers! Please keep an eye out on my Facebook and also the Luke McDonogh Swimmer Instagram page stories and posts for further updates.

I am soo sorry that this has been so hard to do. I have definitely learnt a few lessons this week.

@panpacmasters Equestrian Dressage featuring stories behind the competitors and celebrating the dedication that goes into preparing for an event like this:

Meet @equestriangoldcoastclub committee member, Marian Hutchings @maz_averil , soon to be 70 years young.

Marian is entered at elementary level on her 20 year old German Riding Pony, Bianko🦄.

This will be Marian’s first @panpacmasters Games, and she has had more than her share of health battles over the last few years to be ready for this event; including a burst appendix, full hysterectomy - due to stage 4 prolapse of organs, new leads to Pacemaker after an accidental malfunction in her defibrillator, pneumonia, an ablation to her heart to sort rhythm issues, full right knee replacement and was discharged just last week after 13 days in critical care with fluid on her heart and lungs🫁.

Despite all this, Marian has kept on riding and training. She has a motto that she lives by ~ ‘if it’s meant to be, it’s up to me’.

Of Bianko, Marian says - ‘you’d never believe he is 20! My biggest challenge is convincing him to let me be the pilot. If he could, he would do every test in extended trot. It’s his party trick’!

Marian has been looking forward to riding at the @panpacmasters and anyone who knows her, knows she will be doing it with a huge smile on her face.

Marian has faith in her dreams, keeps doing what she loves, and always give everything 100% and because of this, she’s always happy - no matter the outcome.

Thankyou for sharing your story Marian. We’ll be rooting for you🫡.

@panpacmasters Games Equestrian Dressage feature stories sharing the behind the competition stories and celebrating the dedication that goes into preparing for an event like this.

Meet Monique Chelin, Director of MJC Sustainability and children’s book author, located on the Gold Coast. @ollie.mon.satori

At this year’s event, Monique is riding her warmblood gelding, Stonefox Ranch Satori, a 14 year old advanced schoolmaster, standing 16 hands.

Monique and Satori competed at the 2024 @panpacmasters in their third event together. Of Satori🦄, Monique says he is very talented at opening latches on stable doors, so everything needs to be secured very effectively!
Monique and Satori have been a partnership for 3 years and Monique says it takes a LOT of lessons to continuously improve and has recently started supplementing her riding with gym training to ‘be a better load to carry’.

It has been a secret goal of Monique’s to ride in tails before she turned 50 and she will be achieveing this goal at the 2026 @panpacmasters Games☄️.

Monique says - “the @panpacmasters Games is my favourite event because I remember the first one - how anxious I was, how wobbly the ride was, how little I knew about everything in the horse world...but it just made me so happy to dress up, do my best and enjoy a day out with my beautiful horse in a super-supportive community. Don’t wait to find your joy!”

and she adds - “thank you to everyone who makes these events possible...it’s never just about the horses we love so much...this is a real celebration of commitment to goals and finding joy at every stage of life”.

Entries close this Friday and @equestriangoldcoastclub thanks sponsors, @capricornaustralia and @___rake_it_up__ Arenas for helping make it all possible🙏🏻.
