Chapter 30 ain’t so bad after all… so far anyway💃🥰 #30andfabulous

For a decade of my life, I was a New Yorker. I have resided in the East Village, LIC, UWS and Hell’s Kitchen back to Astoria, my forever home. I have closed down many a bar in [almost] every neighborhood. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few celebrities and chased Kristin Wiig down the block to return a camera left behind. I have hung out in Broadway dressing rooms with the cast after a show, and Cheersed to friends lighting up the stage with their brilliance. I have spent 8+ hour days at Pearl or Ripley only to get a $1 pizza with new audition friends after the cut. I have performed in Times Square Arts Center, twice, and tried desperately not to break during improv shows, what feels like a lifetime ago. I have sang out ballads and character pieces in cabarets that hold a special place in my heart. I had Breakfast at Tiffany’s [the original way]. I lived with several roommates then suddenly lived with none during the pandemic in a 2nd floor walkup when the city had curfews and Central Park was a morgue. I have been blessed enough to land a job among the many pavement pounding hustlers of Madison Ave. I have enjoyed a glass of champagne every Christmas Eve at the Plaza and rang in the New Years in style. I don’t recommend working at an establishment in Times Square on NYE, however. While I live alone by choice now and am a cat mom of 2, becoming much more of a homebody, I have to remind myself that I have lived quite a chapter of my life here in the Big Apple. She introduced me to the best people you’ll ever meet and some of the worst. Above all, she finished raising me and taught me to never stop changing, growing, and I’m stronger than I know. 🍎🗽
I love ya, girl. It will always be, New York or Nowhere.
