Believe it or not, I’m still working in film… So let’s do a little recap. 👀🤩

Over the last year and a half, I’ve had countless opportunities to work with some of the most talented people I’ve met in my life. I’ve also made some amazing friends who I know I wouldn’t have been able to meet any other way.

As many of you likely know, I took a little break after working on project after project (mental health and physical exhaustion being the biggest reason as to why) and it made me really take a step back and realign myself with everything in my life— my work, my relationships, my identity, and a full list more.

All that to say, my main takeaway was this:

You do not have to constantly be moving forward to still be moving in the right direction.

Sometimes you need to slow down.
Sometimes you need to take a break.
Sometimes you need to admit that the thing you’ve been chasing so hard isn’t making you happy in the way you thought it would.

And sometimes, stepping away from something you love and have passion for is exactly what you need to remember why you loved it in the first place.

I’m still learning how to balance working with actually allowing myself to live my life. I’m still figuring out where exactly I want to be, what stories I want to tell, and what kind of person I want to become along the way… But I’m still here. I’m still creating. I’m still learning.

And I’m still incredibly grateful that somehow, this industry keeps putting the most wonderful people and experiences in my path.

So here’s a little look back at the last year and a half… The projects, the people, the long days, and everything in between.

I have no idea exactly where this is all going… But I think I’m finally at a place to say that I’m okay with that. 🤍🎬

PS: To my friends who have been by my side throughout it all— most aren’t pictured 🥀— please know that words can’t describe how grateful I am for you, your patience, and your support. I love you. 🖤💫

The Fake Date 🎥
DAY 2: the office scene

Jake convinces Rachel to pretend to be his girlfriend at Sunday dinner, at the expense of his ego.

Making this scene was as fun as it was to write. Special thanks to everyone who made this film day possible. @love_jarh_productions ESPECIALLY you for lending us your beautiful space. My incredible directing team @_mysticswanstudios and @daynelinford THANK YOU for assisting me on my co-directing debut. Our wonderful crew… all of you I can’t thank enough. Kate, you are brilliant and I love working with you. @_night.light.entertainment_ - your script analysis was/still is CRITICAL.
