Theodore Roosevelt was a rugged environmentalist, avid nonconformist, and passionate idealist. That's why we're building him a Presidential Library.

I’ll admit, I had no idea what to expect visiting the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library with kids, but WOW! We were blown away by how engaging the experience was. So many interactive exhibits, opportunities to explore, and ways to bring history to life!

I love finding experiences that spark curiosity and make learning genuinely FUN, and this one did exactly that!

Two Theodore Roosevelt books, two sides of the legend.

One takes you into the field. The other into his politics and what he believed about leadership and country.

I got the chance to check out @theodorerooseveltnps & @trlibrary for a Bill of Rights Institute workshop. Divided Over The Declaration was a workshop gift while The Naturalist: Theodore Roosevelt was a gift shop purchase. I’m excited for both reads to deepen the knowledge I gained in Medora and the Badlands this week!

Hidden Uganda. 🇺🇬✨

"No tour bus, no gift shop, no brochure, no guidebook. Just the most extraordinary experiences nobody knows about."

That's how CBS News Travel Editor Peter Greenberg described his PBS series Hidden Uganda to Scott Hennen on AM 1100 The Flag, live from Medora, North Dakota.

What he discovered:
→ Uganda's local markets & its people
→ The Nile & the gorillas, seen differently
→ The lake's islands, by his own boat

Next on his list: the Roosevelt Africa Trail.
"We're going to go do a story on it."

A windy but wonderful day in Medora! 💨

Our team joined North Dakota Tourism and industry partners last week for the annual Travel Industry Marketing Summit. It was a great opportunity to connect with clients from across the state and discuss what’s ahead for 2027.

We wrapped up the day exploring the new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library!

“When the landscape becomes part of the interior architecture.”
One of my favorite details inside the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is the rammed earth walls. Made using local soil, sand, and gravel, they bring the colors and textures of the Badlands right into the building, connecting the building’s material palette to the geology of the surrounding landscape.
I love how the floor-to-ceiling windows bring the outdoors in and combined with the warmth of the wood and the curves of the walls, it creates a really unique space.
Here’s a closer look at some of the interior details.
