NOW IN BLACK, GRAVITATIONAL CUTTING MAT—An especially subtle continuation of our edit on the traditional self-healing cutting mat for studio use is now available in black. Edited with a wink and nod to how gravity/mass affects space-time. An exploration of how the “gravity of a good idea” changes the work, the design process, and everything around it. Available now, $75. BENJAMINEDGAR.COM Please note, this object will ship between September 20-25. 3 ply self-healing PVC. Silk screened graphic. 55CM x 40CM grid. the chicago river was dyed green today, continuing a st. patrick’s day tradition that has taken place every year since 1962. the practice started when city officials used a special dye to detect illegal pollution in the river and realized it could be used for festive purposes. the dye used today is vegetable-based and environmentally friendly, lasting anywhere from a few hours to a few days before completely fading. the exact formula remains a secret, known only to the local plumbers’ union that carries out the tradition.
