I am a fly fishing guide/outfitter. I take people fly fishing on rivers in Western Montana

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I had a lovely “birdcation” with my family. Taking a few days off to enjoy this beautiful season and the connective pursuit of game. This year has felt heavy. For my favorite season, I am still unable to shake it. But I can forget about it for a time. In the company of those I love and the pursuit of game I deeply respect.

Wanna win a 2027 fly fishing trip in Montana through Troutzoola? If so, follow these steps: like this post and share it to your story, tag two of your friends in the comments, then follow @beantana_pride and @troutzoola
After that, we’ll enter you into a random drawing to determine one lucky winner! The drawing will take place on November 1st. If you’re successful, we will contact you via DM

This is a free full day float fishing trip with one of our guides (normally priced at $695). Bring a friend, our boats can accommodate up to two anglers! We’ll supply all the essentials including flys, rods, lunches, etc.
We do not provide accommodations for getting here, or lodging. And if you fish with us, you’ll also need to buy a valid Montana fishing license. For more info on what our fishing trips look like, check out the link in my bio! Hope to see you on the river!

It’s been a fun couple days on the water right before this cold snap hits. But truth be told, we’re pretty stoked about rain and snow in the forecast too!

Nathan was crushing them on the upper bitterroot on Wednesday! Then yesterday, Evan and I covered all the bases with decent trout on little dries, big dries, droppers, and streamers!

Fall can be a bittersweet time. Like the trees and everything around us, many of us are going through a lot of big changes right now. This fall in particular seems to be a turbulent one for a lot of people close to me. It’s also a time of year that tends to bring back painful memories. I have to remind myself not to dwell in those spaces. We can’t rewrite our own histories, but we can choose to fill our thoughts with fond memories. Make new ones too, and live in the present. The river is a great place to put your mind at ease. Cheers everyone!

Today is Trigeminal Neuralgia awareness day! A chronic pain disorder I and many others deal with on a daily basis. It affects nearly 1 in every 15,000 people. In the photo I'm holding 3 fingers to represent the three branches of the trigeminal nerve. I'm also wearing teal to bring awareness.
I've spent a lot of time not scooping my own eye out hoping to relieve the pain although it's not just my eye. It can be triggered by a light breeze, temperature change, chewing food, tooth brushing, stress, even nothing at all. It can feel like little electrical zaps or like someone suddenly hit me. Sometimes I feel like a shell of myself.
We all carry hidden pain in many forms. You don't know what others are dealing with, so be kind out there. #trigeminal neuralgia

Fall, for my favorite season, it is full of a bittersweet feelings. It is the harvest, and the hunt, it is a time for festivities and friends, and overall an era of change. I light a candle for all that could have been, all that will be, and for the prosperity of the hunt both in experience and soul.

We’re starting to feel that cold, crisp air of fall. Both the foliage and the trout are adorned in warm tones of orange, yellow, and red. It’s finally my favorite time of year!
