It’s such a blessing to have Ethan take a step in discernment toward the Carmelites in Wisconsin. He’s leaving to begin that discernment of religious life after years of being formed in the diocesan priesthood. It’s really awesome to see how much Our Lady has worked on his heart over the years so I was thrilled he took this step actually. Plus…I mean how awesome are the #Carmelites and now there is one from Troy,AL. It really is one the greatest joys as a pastor watching a young person take their life seriously and return those gifts back with open hearts. #catholic #priesthood #religiouslife #ourladyofmtcarmel

Just a public Thank you to Troy Trojans Football for hosting the Kickoff Party for the fans. It’s such a fun night and we’ve walked away in the drawdown back to back years with some blessings to continue our mission to bring others to Christ. Let’s go Trojans! Prayers for our coaches and their families, the players for a safe year, and so many good people at this university making a difference in young people’s lives on and off the field in Pike County Alabama. It’s a special place. #ChristIsKing #catholic #priesthood #collegefootball #troytrojansfootball

St. Peter Claver, Priest, Born at 1581 at Verdu, Catalonia, Spain in 1581, SAINT PETER CLAVER was the son of a farmer. He studied at the University of Barcelona and entered the Jesuits at age 20. After his ordination as a priest he was influenced by Saint Alphonsus Rodriguez to become a missionary in America. He ministered physically and spiritually to slaves when they arrived in Cartegena, Colombia, having converting a reported 300,000, and working for the humane treatment on the plantations for 40 years. He organized charitable societies among the Spanish in the New World similar to those organized in Europe by Saint Vincent de Paul.

Saint Peter died on 8 September 1654 at Cartegena of natural causes. #Catholic #priesthood #communionofsaints #stpeterclaver #knightsofpeterclaver #archmob #vocations #societyofjesus #jesuit #admajoremdeigloriam
