Did you know you can eat this outdoor plant?

This is how I make pickled Ramps during the springtime. Even though we left without a turkey, we still were able to make some delicious bites.

Wild ramp butter. Taking a recipe from @truth_and_trout to save our ramp harvest for weeks to come.

I have been out and about for turkey season wondering about these ramps I’ve been seeing and hearing so much about, and had yet to have found them. Luckily on a mountainside chasing gobbles, I found quite a patch, and this butter came out delicious. Much more unique, and a tad earthier, than just scallion butter or garlic/onion butter.

Strongly recommend following @truth_and_trout and strongly recommend trying this recipe!

Day 2 of the trip took us round to the River Ifron, where @tobycurson managed this half decent Brown Trout out of some shallow rapid flowing water.

Opening day of trout season in PA! Great excuse to go visit the local Creek! What do you think of this HDR shot?
