a little off-ish day in my life ☕️

Wednesdays are now my days for catching up on admin, planning, getting ahead on client programmes, seeing a few clients (I try to keep these to a minimum on Wednesday’s) & whatever else needs doing because WHY is there always something that needs to be done (asking for a friend) 🤭🤪

If you’re a psychiatrist, you know that admin tasks piling up can add so much stress to your day. ad

That’s why I have loved Heidi II by @tryheidi. You can treat it like a coworker you delegate your admin tasks to.

It can help with prepping charts, writing letters, notifying your MA to follow up with a patient, or even finding a therapist specialized in a certain diagnosis for a specific patient.

Basically you tell it what needs to do in whatever tool the job lives in and it works in the background. Then it brings it back for you to sign off on. Plus anything that repeats you can save as a Routine and never ask twice.

Just search Heidi II to get started!

Heidi II has new task capabilities that go beyond just scribing! So excited to see how much more it can take off my plate as a family physician

Less time on the admin, more time for everything else 🩺✨

If you’re a speechie and you’re not using Heidi Health yet… are you even a speechie? 😉

Honestly, it’s been a game changer for my everyday work, and I think it’s the future for allied health. It doesn’t replace your clinical judgement. That’s still all you. But it takes so much of the paperwork off your plate, so you can spend more time doing what you love: working with your clients. 💬✨

The best part: it was created by a Melburnian 🇦🇺 ✨

After two consecutive years chairing at @bestpracticeshow, in Birmingham and London, I went as a delegate today to cheer on friends who were speaking, chairing and exhibiting.

It’s a different event from the audience.

I went to support @thetalesofdrtasha as chair in Clinical Theatre 1, and Mona Sidhu who spoke about her work in palliative care, recognised with a @mariecurieuk Daffodil Award. Having been on the judging panel for those awards previously, I know how much good palliative care matters, especially in areas of socioeconomic deprivation.

As a chair I’m strict about time and generous with energy and purpose: making sure each speaker gets their moment, engaging the delegates, and sharing the speaker’s work with my network afterwards. I enjoy it.

As a delegate I had time for proper conversations, that didn’t end when the next session started and were often more honest than anything said into a microphone.

The exhibitors brought some practical ideas in the building, and the attention to detail showed. Thank you to Zhagum Arshad and the @gp.triage team for the beanbag seating and for keeping the chai flowing from last night into today. I took a cup to @womenindigital2025 , and we finally had the chance to talk about how women can turn what they want into an actionable strategy, which is at the heart of my advisory and mentoring work.

It was a brief visit, yet it gave me a lot to take away. It reinforced what I see in my work: the people who design something often don’t experience it the way everyone else does. A workforce plan can look good in a board paper and fall over the first time someone tries to fit it into their actual week. Much of what I do is help leaders find that view early, before a well-intentioned plan stalls.

A few people expected to see me on stage this year. I’ve been hosting elsewhere such as @clinilinkltd recently, and I’m speaking and chairing next at the @royalcollegeofgps Annual Conference and Exhibition next, so a day in the audience was a welcome change! Look forward to seeing many of the same faces there 🫶🏼
