Dear Kenya,

Thank you.

Thank you for changing me in ways I never expected. I came here hoping to make a difference, but instead, you changed my heart.

While I was here, I made the decision to be baptized, and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. It is a moment I will carry with me forever. Surrounded by people who had become family, I felt God’s presence in a way I never have before. My faith grew stronger, my heart was changed, and I left with a stronger relationship with God.

Thank you for showing me a love I have never experienced before. You welcomed me with open arms, cared for me like family, and made a place thousands of miles from home feel like home.

You taught me what true joy and gratitude look like. No matter what you had, your hearts were full. You found happiness in the simple things, gave so freely, loved so deeply, and praised God through it all. You reminded me that a joyful life isn’t built on having more. It is built on being thankful for what God has already given. That is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Most of all, thank you for showing me Jesus. I saw Him in your kindness, your generosity, your worship, your laughter, and the way you loved every person you met. Because of you, I know God’s love more deeply than I ever have before.

A piece of my heart will always belong to Kenya. I came to Kenya thinking I would leave a piece of myself here, but instead, Kenya left a piece of itself in me.

Until we meet again. 🇰🇪❤️
