National Policy Seminar!!

Attending the National Policy Seminar in Washington, D.C. gave me the opportunity to advocate for the importance of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and share how programs like DECA prepare students for real careers and leadership. Meeting with policymakers reinforced that student voices matter when shaping the future of education and workforce development. While February highlights Career and Technical Education Month, advocacy for CTE cannot stop there, supporting and promoting these opportunities must continue year-round so every student has access to pathways that lead to success!!

Iowa DECA had an amazing time at CTE Day at the Capitol this week. Officers met with association officers from all of Iowa’s CTSOs as well as state legislators. I was also beyond excited to be joined by Burlington’s very own TSA and HOSA chapters to advocate for Iowa CTE. #ctemonth #iowadeca #bethe1
